2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison Goes Where the Buffalo Roam AEV helps Chevy tweak its off-road specialist full-size pickup, and we have all the specs and details. If there's one thing that pickup owners are constantly clamoring for, it's more. More horsepower, more tire, or more capability. Chevrolet is listening, and has fiddled with its Silverado 1500 ZR2 accordingly, expanding on a partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV).
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison features a host of upgrades that go above and beyond the already immensely capable Silverado 1500 ZR2. It has robust bumpers, complete underbody protection, impressive off-road suspension, loads of engine power, and so much more. Five skid plates cover the front and rear differentials, the fuel tank, and the transfer case. Also included is a front bash plate behind the bumper.
AEV currently offers kits to fit both 33-inch and 35-inch tires on the Colorado ZR2 Bison. Under the hood is GM's proven 6.2-liter V-8 engine, which pumps out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The truck features a lifted suspension with wider control arms and impressive 40-mm Multimatic DSSV dampers while boasting 9.84 inches of front wheel travel with 10.62 inches in the rear. Front and rear electronic locking differentials are standard.
The truck's interior is filled with the most premium elements in the class, complete with standard 13.4-inch color touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. Bison also retains ZR2's exclusive Jet Black and Greystone leather interior scheme.
