Buying a Lamborghini Urus is no small feat, even when you’re an accomplished NBA player such as Terrence Ross of the Orlando Magic. Aside from a hefty $218,000 base price, buying Lamborghini’s first SUV is particularly difficult due to a lack of available supply. As a result, these super SUVs often trade well above their MSRP, even with some miles on them.

However, as CarBuzz reports, Ross had his Italian SUV stolen fairly recently. What followed were a series of unfortunate events which resulted in the thieves eventually losing control and smashing into a building. Unfortunately for Ross, his SUV was particularly special and nearly impossible to replace.

How do you steal a Lamborghini Urus?

While several news outlets covered this stolen Lamborghini Urus story, Ross himself took to Instagram to tell the whole story. According to Ross, this story began as he was driving around, and his Urus must’ve run over something and gotten a flat tire. Like most vehicles at this price point, Ross’s local dealership sent over a flatbed to collect the SUV for service.

Once at the dealership, the Lamborghini Urus sat idle with its flat tire awaiting service. At this point, Ross reports that at least one car thief broke into the dealership and stole a handful of keys. With keys in hand, the thief then made their way out to the parking lot, testing to see which vehicle would open.

Unfortunately for Ross, the thieves had gotten their hands on his key. After firing up the 641-hp SUV, the thieves reportedly sped off. However, since this particular Urus had a tire issue, they didn’t manage to get very far.

The thieves smashed into a building, totaling the SUV

After stealing the Lamborghini Urus, the thieves began driving it around the Orlando area. However, they didn’t manage to get very far. According to Ross, local police officers told him that the tire eventually completely gave out, causing the rear end of the SUV to fishtail and lose control. At this point, the thieves crashed into a building.

While Ross didn’t show any photos of his SUV, he did explain that the crash was severe enough to total his ride. In fact, Ross reports not knowing anything about his stolen SUV until after it was destroyed. In fact, he states that the only reason the police found the thieves so quickly was that they crashed. Had they stolen in good shape, they might’ve gotten away.

Buying a Lamborghini Urus is surprisingly difficult

Having a totaled Lamborghini Urus certainly isn’t the end of the world. Given the SUVs’ high valuation, Ross’s insurance company should have no problem paying out its full value. However, finding a replacement could prove significantly more difficult than expected. That’s because, despite a high amount of demand for the Urus, Lamborghini can only produce so many at a time.

Despite the ongoing microchip shortage that has affected the auto industry, the Urus shortage existed way before that. As a result, finding a replacement SUV right now is next to impossible. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a wait time of over a year for one of these tall-riding Lamborghinis.

Father’s Day is fast approaching, which leaves many kids searching for the perfect gift. Of course, car enthusiasts’ offspring might automatically think of car-centric items. But, of course, not everyone has the budget to surprise their dad with a new car. Fortunately, plenty of accessories enhance the driving experience.

There’s no shortage of options, so we’ve narrowed the list to our favorites in the $14-to-$180 range. Here are five Father’s Day gifts for the car-loving man in your life.

Start off strong with a portable jump starter

If Dad loves road trips or late-night drives, the last thing he needs is a car that won’t start. Regardless of whether his vehicle has an older battery, he might occasionally find himself at the mercy of a stranger with jumper cables. It’s not uncommon for cars to struggle when starting, especially in colder weather.

If you give your dad a portable jump starter for Father’s Day, he can solve this problem on his own. These chargers easily clamp to auto battery terminals and can safely give a car the boost it needs. Ranging from about $100 to $200, these packs are rechargeable and can even charge other devices.

We recommend the $180 Micro-Start XP-10 Portable Power Supply Jump-Starter Complete Kit. It’s easy to buy online through Walmart, and it gets Roadshow‘s nod as “the best portable jump starter battery.”

Treat him to a detailing kit

You might not give your dad a new car, but a detailing kit can help any vehicle look new. These car care kits have everything you need to make a vehicle shine. From headlights to the engine and windows to the carpet, your dad’s car will look like it came straight from the showroom.

A favorite is Meguiar’s Complete Car Care Kit. It costs $65.99 on Amazon. But a great budget pick is Armor All’s four-pack, which you can also find on Amazon. It retails for only $13.47 and boasts over 5,000 positive reviews.

However, no matter which kit you choose, one thing is certain: You’ll score bonus points if you detail your dad’s car on Father’s Day.

A car phone mount will help Dad drive safer

It’s not fair — or safe — to make your dad handle a phone while driving. Giving him a car phone mount for Father’s Day will allow for more hands-free use. From navigation assistance to answering phone calls, these mounts ensure he can use his phone without sacrificing safety.

Nowadays, these gadgets have seemingly limitless designs. Familiarity with your dad’s vehicle is essential to choosing the right configuration for his unique needs.

But for a model that fits all cell phones, even large models, the best-selling Vicseed on Amazon is a great deal. Your dad can mount it to his dashboard, windshield, or air-conditioning vent. Plus, it’s covered in silicone to protect his phone from scratches. It normally costs $29.95, but you can get $5 off by clicking the coupon under the price. Over 11,000 positive customer reviews can’t be wrong.

Also, if your dad’s phone supports wireless charging, you can find mounts that allow wireless charging. This Anker mount on Amazon costs $45.99 and supports various phone models.

Capture every moment with a dashcam

All those YouTube compilations of crazy driving moments you and your dad enjoyed together? They’re all thanks to dashcams. On a more serious note, this technology can save a ton of money and frustration in the event of an accident. As cameras become more commonplace in virtually all of our devices, capturing driving moments has never been easier or more affordable.

Speaking of affordable, you don’t need to shell out hundreds of dollars for a good dashcam for Father’s Day. This low-priced Apeman model boasts over 20,000 five-star reviews on Amazon. And it costs only $43.69 with a coupon.

“The dashcam’s ultrawide angle lens gives a great viewing angle, and its motion image sensor detects and saves footage of car collisions automatically,” Roadshow says. “Don’t expect an HD video quality interface on the dashcam at this price, but you’ll hardly use the menus after initial setup, and you’ll have video evidence of anything that happens on the road.”

He’ll never lose his car keys with this gadget

Still don’t think you’ve found the perfect Father’s Day gift? If only you had put a Tile on it. These handy little Bluetooth devices keep commonly misplaced items close at hand. Your dad can attach a Tile to his keys or even inside his wallet.

So the next time your father can’t find his car keys, he can open the Tile app to find them. No more delayed road trips!

Buying the cheapest car isn’t always the best way to save money. In fact, the 2021 Honda Passport isn’t really even close to the cheapest midsize SUV on the market, but that hasn’t stopped it from being named the best midsize SUV for the money. It is comfortable, reliable, efficient, and still reasonably priced. It is easy to see how it could be the best midsize SUV for the money between those main factors.

The 2021 Honda Passport is a solid midsize SUV for the money

Many customers tend to focus on the price of an automobile without considering value. The price of the 2021 Honda Passport might not be the lowest in the game, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t the best value for the money.

According to U.S. News, the 2021 Honda Passport ranks at the top of their midsize SUV rankings. And, even though the price range of $32,590 – $43,980 is on the higher end of this segment, U.S. News still thinks the Passport is the best midsize SUV for the money.

The 2021 Passport earned two awards from U.S. News

U.S. News named the 2021 Passport the best two-row SUV for the money and the best midsize SUV for families. These may not be the most exciting awards of all time, but they are some of the most valuable.

The 2021 Honda Passport won these awards for being a stand-out by combining cargo and passenger space, safety and reliability ratings, positive reviews from automotive journalists, and available family-friendly features.

The Passport is powered by a 280-hp V6 that sends power to the front wheels or all four in the higher trim packages. The result of this peppy V6 and AWD is a surprisingly well-handling SUV that features light steering, a nimble footprint, and a comfortable ride.

Although the 2021 Honda Passport is certainly not an off-roader, Honda did give it a few off-road driving modes that help it with loose surface traction like dirt and sand. Speaking of controls and settings, the infotainment system can be a bit annoying to navigate. It is not the most intuitive system. U.S. News and our own testing both found the controls slightly annoying and sometimes downright frustrating.

What’s the difference between the Honda Pilot and Honda Passport?

The main difference is size. The Passport is a five-seater midsize SUV, while the Pilot shares the midsize-SUV segment; it has three rows of seating. The two SUVs share the same V6 and a similar price point. However, the 2021 Honda Passport has more standard equipment than the Pilot.

The pilot and Passport are both great; the main deciding factor between the two comes down to little more than preference.

There is a fine line between price and value. However, in particular, the differentiation between the two is important to understand for the car market. At the end of the day, the price you pay for a vehicle loses all of its value if you aren’t satisfied with the choice you’ve made. This is why the 2021 Honda Passport getting named the best midsize SUV for the money really matters.

You probably won’t see the Bugatti La Voiture Noire on the streets. Actually, you might never see it. What’s the deal with this supercar, and what makes it so rare? La Voiture Noire, “The Black Car” in French, is finally revealed in full but is still a pretty mysterious automobile.

How many of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire are there?

The one-of-a-kind Bugatti La Voiture Noire | Bugatti

There are just one of these Bugatti supercars. DuPont Registry notes that after over two years of work, the final version of the Bugatti has been revealed. This vehicle was an homage to Jean Bugatti’s Type 57 SC Atlantic, which the brand called La Voiture Noire. This particular vehicle went missing before World War II and was never seen again. Without the loss of the original car, we might not have this spectacular new version.

“We were rather in awe of the idea of developing the La Voiture Noire. No other vehicle in the long history of Bugatti has acquired the same legendary status as the Type 57 SC Atlantic and has become so synonymous with the brand. We had a great deal of respect for this historical responsibility as well as for the customer,”

Achim Anscheidt | Bugatti Design Director

The bodywork itself is one-of-a-kind, and it is paired with a Black Carbon Glossy clear coat over the carbon fiber. The headlights are each made from 25 individually milled lights on either side. The inside is Havana Brown leather, an ode to Jean Bugatti’s original vehicle.

Who bought the $14.3 million Bugatti La Voiture Noire?

While the vehicle was sold for $13.4 million to a mystery buyer, the value is around $18 million since there will only be one. It isn’t clear who bought the vehicle, either. Some sources say Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo bought it since he has a few other cars, including the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and McLaren MP4 12C. Ferdinand Piech, formerly of the VW Group, was another rumored buyer.

Thus far, no one actually knows who purchased the vehicle. Ronaldo’s spokesperson denied the purchase. Ralph Lauren allegedly owns one of the two Atlantic vehicles on the planet, so he likely isn’t the owner of this item. No matter who the owner is, this is likely the most expensive vehicle in the world.

What took so long to create this car?

Bugatti isn’t known for rushing perfection. This particular version has been in production for years now, and it was finally revealed just last week. According to Bugatti’s press release, La Voiture Noire was created to celebrate the brand’s founding 110 years ago.

Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti, noted, “With the completed La Voiture Noire, we are demonstrating once again that we develop the world’s most sophisticated hyper sports cars.” The idea for the car was dreamed up by Design Director Achim Anscheidt more than 20 years ago, but it took this long to make the dream come to fruition.

It is described as a minimalist coupe, so don’t expect all the bells and whistles of a production car. It has a distinct lack of lines in the bodywork, which makes it appear as one piece. Additionally, the clear coat mentioned before does not offer many reflections, “but plenty of tension and drama.”

Regardless of if we ever see the Bugatti La Voiture Noire in person, take solace in the fact that it exists at all is good enough for us.
