As most of us know, the Ford F-150 is the most popular vehicle in America. Ford has been making them for a long time, and we can’t seem to get enough of it. Although the F-150 is the most popular model in the F-series, it is far from the biggest Ford pickup truck. That honor belongs to the positively gargantuan Ford F-750.

The Ford F-750 is the biggest Ford pickup truck ever made

At some point, the increasingly large ford pickup trucks start to feel like a joke Ford is trying to pull. Looking at images of the Ford F-750 can make you second guess if they are actually real pickup trucks. If you dig around on the Ford site, you’ll find that they are very real, indeed.

The 2022 Ford F-750 is a blank slate ready to be ordered with occupationally specific modular bodies. The F-750 often takes the form of a dump truck, flatbed, and other such commercial vehicle layouts.

The 2022 Ford F-750 is offered with a choice between the new two main engine types. The first is a 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine making 350 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque.

The second main option and first of three diesel options is the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel making 270 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. Both engine options are paired with the 6-speed TorqShift heavy-duty automatic transmission.

Does the Ford F-750 require a CDL?

A commercial driver’s license, or CDL, is needed to drive any vehicle that weighs over 26,000lbs legally. Well, it just so happens that the biggest ford pickup truck in its lightest form is 20,000lbs and can be configured to weigh up to 26,000. It also has air brakes, but for some reason, you don’t have to have an air brake endorsement either.

As long as the weight remains at or below that 26,000-lb mark, no CDL is required, and licensed drivers can buy and drive the biggest Ford pickup truck ever made.

How much does a 2022 Ford F-750 cost?

Ford starts the pricing at $57,620 and climbs up to $72,325. If you consider that this is the biggest Ford pickup truck ever made, that seems pretty reasonable. The truck comes with no bed as standard so that customers can order it with whatever backend they prefer.

The Ford F-750 isn’t all brawn and no brains either. This behemoth has a pile of on-road safety features and driver assists like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, electronic stability control, lane departure warning, Driver Alert System, and auto high-beam headlamps.

The F-750 offers so much in the way of working potential that the price really feels negligible. If you are into getting the biggest Ford pickup truck around, you can actually drive these.

Shaquille O’Neal bought a Ford F-650 years ago and has been seen driving it around multiple times. It is estimated that the NBA star spent around $125,000 on his super-sized Ford pickup truck. The F-650 is similar in size to the F-750 but is shaped a bit more like what we think of as a “normal” pickup truck.

Most of the automotive industry lists out there try to help consumers find the best buys, the cheapest alternatives, and the highest values. But sometimes, it’s worth exploring the other end of the spectrum. And in the realm of the most expensive crossovers, you’ll find the BMW X6. In fact, in one list of the priciest SUVs on the market today, the BMW X6 leads the way with a potential six-figure price tag. But will you get what you pay for with this outrageously expensive ride? Some say the bar doesn’t set any higher than this.

There’s an actual list of the most expensive SUVs

Not that anyone would necessarily seek out the most expensive SUV to buy. But if you ever wondered which vehicles topped such a list, U.S. News did your homework for you.

The team compiled a list of 12 SUVs commanding the highest dollar. They evaluated these crossovers based on the top trims, with all the extras, luxury segment entries included. And while some of these vehicles don’t have official U.S. News scores nor been fully crash-tested, these 12 rides will surely exceed the average consumer budget.

A few of the contenders include the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE, the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, the 2021 BMX X6, and the 2021 Lamborghini Urus.

The 2021 BMW X6 earns a spot among priciest

It may not surprise to learn that BMW earns a spot on this list of most expensive vehicles. The BMW X6 is a coupe-style SUV (or SAC according to BMW), offering a revolutionary design for the midsize crossover segment.

There are three trims: the sDrive40i, the xDrive40i, and the M50i. While the base-to-midlevel price tags are $65,050 to $86,250, the BMW X6 lands on this high-priced list based on its top trim with a starting MSRP of $108,000. And according to BMW, you could tack on even more by adding in the performance or executive packages.

Why is the 2021 BMW X6 M so expensive, you ask? You’re getting an awful lot of vehicle for the money. It starts with the powerful engine, capable of harnessing 600 hp. There are quad exhaust pipes, too. Inside, there are heavy bolster reinforcements for front seat security and luxurious leather upholstery.

At this high-end trim level, the standard equipment roster is robust, with 12.3-inch touch screens and digital gauge clusters. Gesture controls, a head-up display, and hands-free park assisting features are all standard too.

BMW didn’t forget about the other driver aids either. That six-figure price tag affords adaptive cruise and lane-keeping assist with the Driving Assistance Professional Package. It also includes the “Steering & Traffic Jam Assistant” feature that combines the adaptive cruise and lane-centering tech at low speeds. The Executive Package brings the surround sound and the ever-popular, panoramic LED sunroof, according to Edmunds.

A fine-tuned performance machine comes at a cost

The 2021 BMW X6 is more than just a luxury SUV. The automaker calls it the Sports Activity Coupe® and suggests it’s the compilation of all the latest technology, the most lavish designs, fine-tuned performance. Prepare for rocket-like acceleration from either the turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 or the turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder. And BMW brags that the BMW X6 M can hustle with a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.8 seconds.

When you opt to buy this SUV, you’re getting a luxury ride with the best of every amenity. Just remember, you’ll pay for it, too. You may not have set out to buy one of the most expensive SUVs on the market today. But when you drive home with the BMW X6, you’ll enjoy some of the best six figures can buy.

Buying a new pickup truck can cost a pretty penny, and the last thing that owners want is to rack up maintenance and repair bills that are much higher than expected. That theory doesn’t change much if you’re looking to buy a used vehicle, either, and if you’re looking to save money by purchasing a used pickup truck, there is a high chance that you don’t want to spend a lot of money on maintenance and repairs, either.

Cheapest pickup trucks to repair and maintain

After surveying vehicle owners, Consumer Reports has released reports of what buyers have claimed to be the most and least expensive vehicles to maintain, from 2011 model years to the present. There were only two pickup trucks that make up the category rated for maintenance and repairs that cost under $10,000 at the 10-year mark, and you might be pretty surprised to see what two pickup trucks they were.

The Ford Ranger

At the 10 year mark, Consumer Reports has the average repair and maintenance cost for Ford Ranger models spanning from 2011 to the latest year at just $200. Thanks to some clever homemade songs, the Ford Ranger is back in the social media spotlight, but there are plenty of other reasons to love the less popular pickup.

Ratings and reviews for the Ford Ranger have been up and down on the Consumer Reports website for the past several model years, but it is still a modest and affordable option for many drivers.

The Nissan Frontier

The Nissan Frontier goes head to head with the Ford Ranger, also costing an average of $200 at the 10-year mark. Nissan fans love this sporty and reliable pickup truck for its modest entry-level price, and, of course, the Nissan reliability. It goes without saying that we don’t expect Nissan to have high maintenance prices as we would for some other brands like BMW and Audi, so this option isn’t very surprising.

There are more options that make the list if you are willing to pay a little bit more for maintenance without breaking the bank, but they will cost more than $10,000 to buy upfront. That means the used Nissan Frontier and used Ford Ranger are both the cheapest pickup trucks to buy and maintain.

The 2021 Nissan Murano comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that provides 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. This is an incredible amount of standard power. According to Edmunds, the Murano delivers a peppy acceleration with reliable power.

You get a sense of stability with the responsive steering wheel, and it handles better than rivals around curves. The brakes feel consistent but can be a little soft. Also, thanks to the smaller size of the Murano compared to the Nissan Pathfinder, it’s pretty agile and easy to maneuver around the city.
