The Tesla Cybertruck is a truck like no other. CEO Elon Musk and the hardworking folks at Tesla designed the most unique, mass-produced pickup in history. Not only does the Tesla Cybertruck look unlike any other truck, but it is also built differently from any other truck. The Cybertruck is a risk in many ways because it is so bold. According to investment guru Jim Cramer, the Cybertruck will be disastrous.

The Tesla Cybertruck may look futuristic, but does it actually have a future in the automotive industry? The electric truck is easily the most controversial Tesla model to exist because of its unique design. While most Tesla models are unique, this truck takes things to a whole new level, seemingly drawing design inspiration from Sci-Fi movies.

Tesla’s first electric pickup truck will not only have to prove itself as a new vehicle, but it will also have to compete against several other new electric pickup trucks coming to market, like the Ford F-150 Lightning. Tesla is still the new kid on the block, but automakers like Ford have decades of experience producing vehicles and pleasing customers.

According to InsideEVs, TV personality and investment guru, Jim Cramer thinks the Tesla Cybertruck is destined to fail before its release. Cramer calls the Cybertruck “ugly” and believes that only true fans of the brand will buy the Cybertruck. He went on to predict that the Tesla Cybertruck would be Elon Musk’s first disaster.

Jim Cramer called the Tesla Cybertruck an “eyesore” and expressed that he would much prefer the Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck. Jim Cramer is the host of CNBC’s Mad Money. He is also a former hedge manager. Jim’s opinion on the Cybertruck doesn’t necessarily mean that the truck will flop over time. His opinion does, however, reflect the sentiments of those who disapprove of the truck’s innovative design.

The Tesla Cybertruck’s key selling point is its unique body style. Its cold-rolled stainless steel exoskeleton is like nothing else on the market. The Cybertruck was built to be durable and withstand impact, making it extremely safe. The Cybertruck’s final trim level is extremely powerful and fast. The electric truck isn’t for everyone, but those who enjoy its innovative body will surely enjoy the speed, power, and durability of Tesla’s first electric truck.

The market for luxury electric SUVs is increasing year after year, with more and more manufacturers offering a standalone electric SUV option or a variation of an already popular vehicle in their lineup with an electric motor. For Volvo, the 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge is a competitive option against other less-modestly priced vehicles from Tesla, and it gives buyers a wider variety of vehicles. But does the Volvo XC40 Recharge offer enough range to really compete against more established electric SUV options?

What is the electric range of the 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge?

The 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge is an underdog in the world of luxury electric cars. Price and feature-wise, it is a direct competitor of Tesla, making it a good option for buyers who are looking for something a little different but still want a luxury electric SUV. The Recharge offers a rather pleasant amount of electric range, with a reported 208-mile range on a single, full charge. This isn’t as much as some electric vehicles, but it is close enough to compete with electric cars that offer 250 miles or more of electric range. As most drivers don’t travel 200 miles between charges, this is more than enough for the average electric vehicle owner. There are currently no options for extended range on the Recharge — what you get is what you get.

The Volvo XC40 is either electric or gasoline powered

The 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge isn’t the long-range model of the electric SUV that you see from brands like Tesla, but instead just the all-electric model. This means that the Recharge is the only electric variation offered for this spunky and underrated SUV, with the standard XC40 being offered with a more common gasoline-powered engine. They share most of their features and styling characteristics, with the most noticeable difference upon first glance is the grille, which isn’t needed for the electric 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Is the Recharge worth it over the standard model?

The difference in price between the 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge and the standard model is quite a bit, making buyers wonder if it’s really worth the difference in price. The Recharge, for example, has a starting price of $59,555 while the standard model has a starting price of almost $20,000 less at $39,1110 — meaning that for some drivers, the benefits of driving an electric version of the vehicle isn’t enough to pick the Recharge over the standard XC40 with a gasoline engine. The Recharge isn’t the best option for drivers who commute long distances or live in areas where recharging stations aren’t as readily available — or, perhaps, if you just have electric vehicle range anxiety, which isn’t unheard of, especially for first-time electric car owners. How far you travel and how comfortable you are with monitoring the remaining range will determine if the Recharge is worth the price to you.

Sporty family sedans are seemingly making a comeback. Cars like the Acura TLX Type S have shed new light on the possibility of driving a practical car that can haul a family of five while putting a smile on the driver’s face with its power. The same goes for other rivals in the segment like the 2021 Genesis G70, which is powerfully practical as well. But which of these two cars is quicker when accelerating hard in a straight line?

2021 Genesis G70 vs Acura TLX Type S

2021 Acura TLX Type S | Acura

If you’re unfamiliar with the 2021 Genesis G70, just know that it comes with two different engine options: a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 engine. As you can guess, the smaller engine is made for fuel efficiency but doesn’t sacrifice much in power. However, if you want the big guns, then you need to opt for the larger engine.

That twin-turbo V6 puts out a stout 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that routes power to all four wheels. We recently had a Genesis G70 as a test car and it was surprisingly smooth and powerful. So it’s no surprise that the editors at Car and Driver were able to get the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

On the other hand, the 2021 Acura TLX Type S is a powerhouse in its own right. Under the hood is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque and is matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The TLX also uses the automaker’s Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive system for maximum grip. As such, the editors at Car and Driver were able to get the TLX Type S up to 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.9 seconds.

As we can see, it should be a close match-up between the two sedans.

Which sport sedan wins in a drag race?

Throttle House recently pitted the 2021 Acura TLX Type S and the Genesis G70 in a three-way drag race with a Kia Stinger GT. So far, we know that the Kia Stinger muscled out the TLX Type S, but how did the Genesis G70 do?

It was a close race, between the two Korean cars anyway. In Throttle House’s video, it’s clear that the Acura TLX’s heavier weight didn’t help much, nor did its built-in “launch control” feature. The Genesis G70 was able to beat it off the line and even bested it during the roll race.

Is the Genesis G70 the best sport sedan to buy?

A white 2022 Genesis G70 rounding a curve on an empty road, the G70 is one of the best affordable AWD sedans of 2021
2022 Genesis G70 | Genesis

Considering the amount of power and practicality that’s loaded in the Genesis G70, we would say that it’s one of the best values currently in the market. In fact, it costs a few thousand dollars less than its Acura rival ($51,445 vs $54,645), so you know you’re getting your money’s worth with that price tag.

However, that doesn’t mean that the TLX Type S is a slouch by any means. It’s still a fun and practical sports sedan that’s bound to be reliable. Unless you plan to get in a lot of stoplight drag races during your normal commutes, the Acura TLX Type S will give you what you need. Just don’t race any G70s or Kia Stingers with it.
