The Jeep Grand Wagoneer returns this summer large and in charge with a three-row 2022 model that has a lot to offer. It’s as luxurious as the Cadillac Escalade, and its ride rivals that of the Lincoln Navigator. However, it can’t stand toe-to-toe with them when it comes to gas mileage. So, what kind of gas mileage can you expect with the latest Grand Wagoneer? Additionally, what else does the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer have to offer?

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s Performance

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer luxury SUV | FCA US LLC.

Under its hood, Jeep’s new flagship SUV has a 6.4-liter V-8 engine paired with an automatic eight-speed transmission. It’s the only powertrain available for what will be the biggest vehicle in Jeep’s lineup and is rated at 455 lb-ft of torque with both all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive options.

As for fuel economy, the all-wheel drive configuration of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer gets an EPA-rated 13/18/15 mpg city/highway/combined. If you go with a rear-wheel drive model, the numbers are essentially the same at 13/19/15 mpg with slightly better gas mileage on the highway.

Are the lower EPA estimates justified?

While the gas mileage estimates the new Wagoneer earned aren’t the greatest, are they reasonable for a vehicle of its size? Yes, they very much are. It’s a roomy, three-row SUV that’s frame is based on that of a Dodge Ram pickup truck, after all.

The team at MotorTrend points out that Lincoln Navigator with a rear-wheel drive configuration gets an EPA-estimated 16/22/18 mpg. It’s powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain option puts out 450 horses and 510 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, if you go for an all-wheel drive model, the Navigator gets 16/20/17 mpg.

There’s a more efficient diesel engine under the hood of the Cadillac Escalade. The stout 6.2-liter V8 engine gets 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and it’s also paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. With rear-wheel drive, the Escalade gets an EPA-estimated 15/20/17 mpg. With all-wheel drive, it’s rated at 14/19/16 mpg.

While the Escalade and Navigator get better gas mileage than the new Grand Wagoneer, it’s not by much. Fuel economy is one of the few drawbacks to large and luxurious SUVs.

An overview of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

The upscale sibling of the standard Jeep Wagoneer, the new Grand Wagoneer offers performance, power, and great capability. There’s room for a big family on the inside to travel comfortably with more than enough tech to keep everyone connected and entertained. It’s loaded with great driver assistance features, and you even tow up to 10,000 pounds with it.

The team at Car and Driver like the Series II trim the best for its value in a pricey lineup. Series II models offer a dual-tone roof, a 10.3-inch touch screen for navigating the infotainment system upfront, and upscale upholstery with leather trimming. Additionally, there’s a rear-seat monitoring system to remind you to check the backseat for precious cargo and plenty of other great driver assistance features like a semi-autonomous driving mode and night vision.

There’s a lot to love about the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. If price isn’t an issue and you can afford the gas, you’ll really appreciate the revival of this classic family vehicle. It will be on the roads this summer, and it starts at $88,995. There’s also the obligatory blacked-out model option called Obsidian, and it starts at $100,995. Meanwhile, the Series III Premium models sit on the top shelf for $109,980. Lastly, the Series II models of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer offer most of the luxury of the Series III but cost less at $95,995. If you don’t mind the gas mileage, it’s a great vehicle for a family.

The Devel Sixteen is beyond anything we have ever seen. Sure, the Aston Martin V12 Speedster is wild, and the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is banana, but those cars still live on this planet. The Devel sixteen does not. For one, it has 5,000 horsepower… For two, its first promotional video is one of the goofiest and low-quality things we have seen in a long time. For something so monumental to be showcased in such a way is a bit perplexing. However, if the car performs half as well as it looks and its fire-breathing powerplant should, then who cares about the goofy video?

The Devel Sixteen may not need anymore horsepower but it does need a creative director

As most of us know at this point, the UAE and Dubai, in particular, is the world’s capital for overabundance, and shockingly opulent spending. So, it would stand to reason that hungry capitalists would flock to this market and make the most over-the-top versions of anything they could.

It’s no secret that the car scene in the UAE is bonkers. In 2006, when Devel Motors was founded, the bonkers car scene fell deeper into its lunacy. Devel Motors was founded on the goal of taking the entirety of the flashiest car market in the universe, the UAE and distilling that market into one brand that would make everything else irrelevant.

Meet the Devel Sixteen

Devel Sixteen | Devel

The Devel Sixteen was meant to take the newly introduced Bugatti Veyron and make it look silly. It was meant to be a hellish mixture of a part jet fighter and one part unspeakable fell beast. It would conjure these visions of terror by showcasing an unseemly amount of horsepower of which our world has never seen.

Well, it’s been fifteen years and the legendary super-hypercar has still yet to be built. However, Devel has made some progress in the engine building department.

Although the company is promising three versions – the top of which is the track-only 5,000-hp version – all three are well beyond anything most drivers have ever experienced. According to New Atlas, the 5,000-hp Devel is the top trim and would not be street legal. The slightly less insane car sports the same custom-built 12.3-liter V16 engine running four massive 81mm turbochargers but only gets 3,000 horses. Lastly, a 2,000-hp V8 version will bring up the rear.

Why make a car this powerful?

The Devel Sixteen | Devel

First, we have to assume Devel can pull off such a feat. However, if they can, we are then forced to ask, “why?”

We recently watched the 2020 SSC Tuatara crush the fastest production car world record. This has many hypercar makers getting sweaty. Hypercars are nothing if not the most ridiculous. Devel is clearly trying to grab the most powerful and fastest production car record.

This is what hypercar customers are after. This fact is doubly true for the UAE car market. If it isn’t the most expensive or most powerful, or rarest, then it might as well not exist in this market. Devel clearly understands that market pressure and seems to be trying its best to get there.

Is 5,000 hp too much? Probably. But as technology and capabilities progress, so too will our desire for more, more, more.

The new Lamborghini Countach has ignited the internet with old-school Lamborghini love once again. A few photos have leaked of the new design, and reviews have been favorable. Reviews are always mixed when an automaker takes a stab reimagining a cult favorite, but new Lamborghini Countach images seem to have a majority of fans excited.

How much does a Lamborghini Countach cost?

Is this the new leaked Lamborghini Countach? | Lamborghini

The Lamborghini Countach isn’t exactly easy to find these days. Only around 2,000 Countach supercars were ever produced between 1974 and 1990. It was bound to be a classic from the start, but the supercar really did a number on fans. The wedge-shaped Lamborghini resembled a wedge of fine Italian cheese.

These days, early 1980s Countachs are selling for around $500,000 on sites like Bring a Trailer. There is no telling what a new version will sell for. Similar vehicles like the 2021 Lamborghini Sián go for well over $2 million. Examples of other Lamborghini vehicles vary from $200,000 to $500,000.

The leaked (and official) Lamborghini Countach images

Lamborghini started teasing fans that the Countach was making a comeback. So far, only a few unofficial images have leaked photos of the complete car as shared by MotorTrend. Lamborghini shared some official pictures on Instagram earlier this week, one of which is above. It shows the front end of the new Countach, and it certainly is still paying homage to the wedge shape. A narrow black grille indicates the classic Countach name with a modern update.

The second image shows the new Lamborghini Countach engine, a ridiculous V12 under the clear hexagonal engine window. The Ordine di Accensione plate is visible with some numbers that point to the new LPI 800-4 powertrain. Rumors suggest that this is a hybrid. The windows lend to a more Lamborghini Aventador look, but fans haven’t seen the whole car yet. The third and final photo shows more classic Countach styling. Lamborghini will reveal more about the car on the 50th anniversary this weekend.

While pop-up headlights are not really legal anymore, the front end is likely the most exciting part. If these leaked Lamborghini Countach images are legitimate, the front end resembles a Lamborghini Gallardo.

The rumor mill is churning out high quality information

Lamborghini has been busy teasing fans this week but plans to reveal more this weekend. The chassis of the new Lamborghini Countach is apparently from the Aventador. The Lamborghini Sián offers a V12 with 807 hp, so perhaps the engine will come from there. Thus far, it looks like the new Countach is indeed lending to the traditions that have worked for the brand.

“Great creations are born from great traditions. Traditions that are filled with inspirational stories, discoveries, breakthroughs, twists and turns, passing down a unique heritage. Traditions that have embraced change and innovation. Our latest creation was born from this tradition. Stay tuned to discover the new Lamborghini Countach. “

Lamborghini

From what everyone can see, the Lamborghini Countach will be one of the most popular new supercars on the market. Not that the Countach will hit the market, Lamborghini will likely release to a select group of buyers and VIPs. The new Lamborghini Countach will capture the attention of fans everywhere either way.

Financing a car can seem daunting considering there are different qualifications that you must meet in order to buy a car. Furthermore, different lenders will have different rates and your eligibility can even depend if you’re buying a new or used car. But what kind of credit score do you need to buy a used one?

The minimum credit score needed for a used car loan

There are many different scoring models for credit scores. For example, if you’re used to using the Credit Karma app on your phone, then you’re used to seeing your VantageScore based on the TransUnion and Equifax credit bureaus. However, when you fill out an application for an auto loan, the lenders typically check your FICO Auto 8 credit score, which is different.

To check your Fico Auto 8 score, then you can sign up with Experian in order to check it. That FICO score ranges from 300 to 900 and, as always, the higher your score the better chance you have of getting an auto loan with a good finance rate. Fortunately, according to Credit Karma, there is no universal minimum credit score for auto loans. But your score will have an effect on the auto loan terms that you receive.

A lower credit score can result in a high rate

If you’re planning to buy a used car, then it’s recommended that you know what your credit score is before you apply for a loan. You can check Credit Karma but we recommend checking with Experian as well so that you have a well-rounded idea of what your score is since they will be different.

NerdWallet notes that a target credit score of 660 and above should get you an interest rate around 6% or below. According to a June 2020 report from Experian, the average credit score for a used car loan was 657 and the average score for a new car loan was 721. But that doesn’t mean that you need a stellar rate to qualify. In fact, Experian noted that almost 30% of the car loans last year went to applicants with credit scores lower than 600.

Keep in mind, though, that the lower your credit score, the higher your interest rate could be. NerdWallet reported that subprime credit scores (501 – 600) typically receive an interest rate of around 17% for a used car loan. But higher, non-prime scores (601 – 660) typically returned interest rates in the 10% range. If your credit score is higher than 660, then you can look forward to rates in the 3-5% range, depending on your lender, your income, the price of the car, etc.

Used car loan rates are usually higher than new car loan rates because you’re buying a car that has already begun to depreciate, which lessens its value, says Cars Direct. Also, since the car is older, it’s more at risk of breaking down or needing repairs, which means that it’s more of a liability. It’s for these reasons that lenders will typically charge higher interest rates for used cars.

Ultimately, your rate will depend on your credit score. So if you’re looking to get the best rate on a used car, then you can keep track of your credit history and report by using simple online tools like Credit Karma. There might not be a minimum score to qualify for a loan, but it’s important to put your best foot forward when applying for one.
