The great thing about accessories is learning to use them in an unorthodox manner. Trailer hitches are a great example of this. Sure, you can use it to tow your belongings, but there are tons of other things you can do with a trailer hitch that will make life so much easier.

Car camping is all the latest rage as you can hop in your car and go without needing to shell out for expensive camping equipment. Additionally, depending on the condition campsite, it costs much less than finding a hotel room if something goes wrong.

When out camping, a trailer hitch hammock takes the hassle out of trying to find two trees to set up your hammock. It also saves you the trouble of setting up a tent if you prefer to sleep in a hammock.

Bike racks

Riding a bike might not be for everyone, but it’s a fun way to spend time with the family, hang out with friends, or get some exercise on your own. Bringing your bikes along is much easier if you have a trailer hitch, according to U-Haul. Sure, you can toss the bikes in the trunk and then tie the lid down. Yet, that takes up a lot of space and isn’t practical if you want to take your bikes on vacation. Using a trailer hitch to add your bike to the back is the perfect way to go.

Superbumper

Rear-end collisions are all too common. All it takes is the person behind you taking their eyes off the road for a split second. Now your day is ruined as you wait for the police to come and take the report. Then comes the nightmare of dealing with insurance companies, trying to get your vehicle repaired, and explaining to your boss why you’ll be late to work.

A superbumper can help with this. It’s designed to take the brunt of the damage, so your vehicle doesn’t have to. You obviously can’t use it while you’re towing something, but it’s a convenient way to configure your trailer hitch when it’s otherwise not in use.

Ski carrier tow hitch adapter

Bikes are great, but not in the wintertime. If you live in a chilly area where biking isn’t feasible, then a ski carrier might be exactly what you need.

If you’re more of a hobbyist when skiing and renting your equipment, this is obviously not for you. However, for those who go skiing regularly, it’s a great accessory to have. It’ll save your back from having to shove the equipment on the roof of your vehicle and trying to pull them off when you arrive at your destination.

Picnic table

Boating Magazine highly recommends adding a picnic table to the back of your hitch. This is the perfect accessory for tailgating, impromptu picnics, and that romantic little getaway you’ve been planning for a while that you don’t want your in-laws to crash.

Barbecue grill tow hich extension

What’s a picnic without fresh hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks. It’s even better with fresh grilled fish. The Party King Grills MVP-5412, shown here on Amazon, is a tow hitch extension accessory gas grill for family cookouts and tailgates that makes this dream possible for you and your loved ones.

Snow plow hitch

If you live in an area with lots of winter weather, waiting for the local authorities to come out and plow your driveway might be a long wait. Additionally, if you live in a rural area, it might not happen at all. That’s where a snowplow comes in.

If you have a front tow hitch, you can add a snowplow to the front, which will allow you to move the snow on your own. It’s especially great for essential workers who have to be at work no matter what the weather looks like.

Saturday sparked a controversial set of circumstances that concluded with Sebastian Vettel’s disqualification from the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday. Finger-pointing began at the end of qualifying when drivers behind Lewis Hamilton barely crossed the line in time to set a hot lap. Some drivers didn’t make it at all.

The first lap of Sunday’s race saw carnage in turn 1. The wet tarmac made it easy for Valtteri Bottas to lock his front tires and slam into the back of Lando Norris. Norris veered left and hit Max Verstappen off the track, causing some major damage to the Red Bull’s aero bits.

Sebastian Vettel, who managed to avoid the incident started down in P10. The race director red-flagged the session, and drivers went back to the pits before the race restarted. Vettel found himself near the front of the grid, with the likes of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso.

Vettel challenged for the win, but ultimately couldn’t get his Aston Martin past Ocon and finished the race in P2. Hours later, news emerged his car failed a test, and Vettel was disqualified from the race result. This handed P2 to Lewis Hamilton and promoted Carlos Sainz Jr. to P3.

Why Was Vettel Disqualified?

Under regulation Article 6.6, a car must have enough fuel that officials can gather a 1-liter sample at any time. The officials could only extract 0.3-liters of fuel from Sebastian Vettel’s Aston Martin after the race, despite Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer stating the car had 1.44-liters left. According to the rules, this warranted Vettel to be disqualified from the race. Vettel’s team announced its appeal of the decision and has 96 hours to decide if they want to go forward with the appeal.

How Did the FIA Struggle to Get Enough Fuel for a Sample?

Official data has yet to be released. Otmar stated Vettel’s car had an issue with the fuel lift pump after the race, which could be the culprit. A fuel leak is another possibility. However, due to the complex construction of the cars, it’s difficult to get a sample. The bodywork and power unit reportedly make extracting fuel more difficult now than in the past, when entire fuel systems could be removed. Teams must shut off the engine before the FIA gathers fuel samples, so the FIA can’t reach the fuel inside the lines either.

Vettel fans must wait a few more days to see if Aston Martin will go ahead with the appeal. Even if the team does take action, there’s a slim chance they can overturn the decision. Even if there were 20 liters left in the tank, the faulty pump wouldn’t have made it impossible to extract, According to Auto, Motor und Sport. Regardless of the outcome, it was a superb drive from Vettel and won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Bentley and UAE go together like (Motor)biscuits and gravy. This is why the British fancy car builder sent five coachbuilt Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner to UAE in 2015 to be sold to some oil Barons. However, the oil boys and princes weren’t feeling them and now Bentley is taking their priceless limos abroad and offering them for sale to the world.

How much does a priceless Bentley limo cost?

According to CarScoops, The original Mulsanne Grand Limousine was initially built as a private commission. From there it seems that Bentley saw some potential in these super-executive sedans and gave the OK for five more.

These five uber limos made it to their shining home of Dubai and they sat for over five years. The fancy cars sat waiting for their prince to come and take them away, but he never came. These cars have sat undisturbed for all this time. As a result, they are still brand-new six-year-old cars.

Given the nature of these hyper-luxury limos, Bentley has not given out the pricing, essentially saying, “ if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.” So these coachbuilt custom Bentleys are now being offered to the rest of the world but no one knows how much they cost. They are literally priceless, as far as any regular people know.

This is not your standard limo

Now that the UAE has seemed to pass on these exclusive beauties, the rest of us have shot at buying one. There is a definite feeling of old money here. The days of being driven around town by your driver in a limo feel long gone, which is maybe why these land ships are sitting at harbor. However, for those Rockefeller types, there may be a few left who crave the old coach-built limo days.

Ok, so what does a priceless limo come with? The Mulsanne is a bit bigger than a normal Bentley after receiving a 39.4-inch stretch together with 3.1 inches of added headroom. The limo is also set up with a custom climate control system that consists of two “zones” that allow each of the four rear passengers to manually control their own micro-climates. The goal is to keep every passenger perfectly comfortable despite differing needs.

The rear seats are all facing inward to better facilitate the buying and selling of precious gems and gold, or whatever people with custom Bentley limos do. Like any good Bentley, it’s got a bottle chiller and champagne flutes to toast the Colonies (again, I can only assume this is what people do in these cars.) The rest of the space is filled with other mobile dining facilities like a fold-out picnic table along with iPad docking and charging stations strewed through the cabin.

There is an intercom system in the back seat so that the billionaire can speak to the driver for instructions. There is also a pane of smart glass that can be made transparent or opaque in order to keep things from getting too chummy with the help.

Not that it matters, but this massive land ship is powered by Bentley’s famous 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8 producing just over 505hp and 752 lb-ft of torque. However, discussing such mechanical things is uncouth and distasteful.

Bentley seriously thinks these limos are important

There is an argument to be made that these may actually be a decent investment. Although we don’t know what these prince-mobiles go for, they could increase in value. It is a fair assumption that Bently will likely never make these over-the-top limos ever again. For one, they are absurd, but more importantly, they clearly weren’t popular. These two factors tend to make for fairly collectible cars. Who knows, maybe someone will see the shot and buy one for driving and one for keeping.

Trucks and SUVs keep getting bigger and bigger. The Toyota Highlander may not be an exception to this rule. New reports suggest that the Toyota Grand Highlander will be a taller and longer Highlander model.

The Toyota Grand Highlander is getting stretched out

2022 Toyota Highlander | Toyota USA

According to Automotive News, the Toyota Highlander is about to get stretched out. The new model will be known as the Toyota Grand Highlander. This makes us wonder if the Jeep Grand Cherokee L will have a problem with the name.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Until then, we know that Toyota filed a trademark for the Grand Highlander moniker back in December. The 2023 Toyota Grand Highlander may debut in 2022.

The Grand Highlander will slot in between the regular Toyota Highlander and the refreshed 2023 Toyota Sequoia to grow their lineup of crossover options. It will have a larger third-row seat than the standard Highlander but won’t be as massive as the Sequoia.

What to expect with the 2023 Grand Highlander

The current Toyota Highlander has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 295 hp and 263 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid Highlander has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that pumps out 243 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.

When properly equipped, the Highlander can tow up to 5,000 lbs. The gas engine seems like it has enough power for an entry-level trim, but we would like to see the towing capacity increase to about 6,000 to 7,000 lbs. This way, it would be stronger than rivals such as the Kia Telluride.

While the current hybrid powertrain in the Toyota Highlander seems a little soft, Toyota has a few more options in the works. Rumors suggest that a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain is on the way.

This new powertrain option is expected to debut in the Toyota Land Cruiser or the Toyota Tundra Pro. But it could arrive with the Toyota Grand Highlander too. It would be powerful and efficient with instantaneous torque to enhance off-roading capabilities.

Will the Grand Highlander be a luxurious option?

It’s difficult to determine if the new Toyota Grand Highlander will be a luxurious option or a more practical ride. But the Toyota Highlander is getting a longer wheelbase. This means that while it will have more passenger space and cargo room, it will also provide a smoother ride.

The Toyota Land Cruiser serves as a luxury SUV, but the 2022 model won’t be sold in the United States. It’s possible that the Toyota Grand Highlander could replace it. But the 2021 Land Cruiser starts at about $85,665, and we don’t see the Grand Highlander going that high.

You can get started with a 2021 Highlander for about $35,085. This price feels high, but not luxury high. Also, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L starts at around $36,995. The Grand Highlander will have to be close to that price to compete.

What we do know is that a larger Toyota Highlander is coming. It will most likely have a hybrid powertrain and offer more passenger space. But we don’t know how luxurious or powerful it will be. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
