Shopping for a new car can make for an overwhelming experience. With so many new vehicles to choose from, how do you decide which is the best option for satisfying your daily driving needs? Fortunately, TrueCar has sifted through the data and revealed its picks for the best new cars under $50,000.

The 2021 Volvo S60 is one of the best new cars under $50,000

2021 Volvo S60 | Volvo

There’s a lot to like about the 2021 Volvo S60. It’s a five-seater, four-door sedan that’s as spacious as it is comfortable. It starts at $38,950 and is available in seven trim levels. TrueCar reports that the most popular Volvo S60 trim level is the T5 Momentum AWD, which boasts a starting price of $41,250 and comes well-outfitted with the latest in driver-assist and tech-savvy features.

Of course, a slew of trim levels and a long list of features aren’t the only reasons that TrueCar included the 2021 Volvo S60 among its picks for the best new cars under $50,000. According to TrueCar, this year’s new Volvo S60 “blends secure handling with a quiet ride” and “remains best-suited for daily driving bliss.”

Perhaps the only downside to the 2021 Volvo S60 is that it’s not the most sporty sedan to drive. In fact, while this year’s new Volvo S60 does feel stable when it gets up to speed, TrueCar reports that it “lacks the razor-sharp handling of sports sedans in its class.”

The 2021 Lexus ES is a new car that offers plenty of options

And if the 2021 Volvo S60 isn’t quite your style? TrueCar also highlighted the 2021 Lexus ES as one of the best new cars under $50,000. This luxury sedan boasts a starting price of $40,000 and is available in several different trim levels. At its most expensive, the 2021 Lexus ES will have you spending approximately $46,550. For those in the market for a new car under $50,000, there’s no denying that the 2021 Lexus ES makes for a budget-friendly choice.

As for what’s under the hood? This year’s model can be had with three different engines, including a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain. Standard, however, is a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Additional engine options include a 302-hp 3.5-liter V6 and a 215-hp hybrid powertrain.

The 2021 Lexus ES comes well-stocked with tech and safety features too, TrueCar reports. All models are standard with sought after features like push-button start, a 10-speaker premium sound system, WiFi connectivity, and a Lexus Multimedia System with an 8.0-in color display featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This year’s model comes standard with a long list of driver-assist safety features too and was given a five-star overall safety rating by the NHTSA.

The 2021 Toyota Avalon is the best new car under $50,000

When it came to choosing the best new car under $50,000, TrueCar chose none other than the 2021 Toyota Avalon. Though, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. The Toyota Avalon starts at $36,125 and is available in a long list of trim levels. Those in the market for a fuel-efficient new sedan will be pleased to know that the Avalon is available as a hybrid too.

But if you go with the standard Toyota Avalon? You can expect to find a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, TrueCar reports that the “Avalon’s quiet powertrain and supple suspension help with daily driving.” According to the EPA, the Avalon isn’t much of a gas guzzler either. With a V6 under the hood, it delivers an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

The 2021 Toyota Avalon knows just how to please when it comes to interior space and amenities too. It offers up more than enough space for five passengers, along with 16.09 cubic-feet of cargo space. This year’s model can also be had with a leather-trimmed interior, real wood trim, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and a premium audio system.

Choosing the best new car for your budget is going to take a test drive

If you’re shopping for a new car under $50,000, you’ve got plenty of options to choose from. But according to TrueCar? These three models make up some of the best new cars under $50,000. To find out which is the best fit for you, we recommend getting behind the wheel for a test drive.

Prepare for battle! The 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior could be ready to finally enter the arena. This Nissan Titan trim has been upgraded to enhance its off-roading abilities and looks to take on rivals such as the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss.

The 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior is coming

2021 Nissan Titan Warrior concept | Nissan

According to HotCars, the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior is gearing up for battle. It first made an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show in 2016, but then it was canceled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

But now Nissan has decided to bring this concept back to life. This truck will raise the bar against other off-roading rivals like the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. You can already tell by its rugged exterior that it means business.

The Nissan Titan Warrior will carry its clunky box shape over from the concept design. It will also feature similar LED lighting with a modern grille, rear lip spoiler, blacked-out LED taillamps, off-roading specific wheels with chunky tires, and Magma Orange accents around the bumpers and side skirts.

Also, this truck includes functional hood vents, burly skid plates, and a quad-tipped exhaust system that isn’t exactly quiet. The Warrior will announce when it’s near as a tribute to its off-road racing heritage.

How much power does the Titan Warrior have?

The 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior concept has the existing 5.0-liter V8 Cummins turbo diesel engine from 2016 with 310 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This setup has been used for modified off-roading variants of Nissan SUVs.

But we could see a few other options. For example, we could see Nissan’s 5.6-liter V8 with 390 hp, and 394 lb-ft of torque make its way under the hood. This would provide a reliable gasoline option.

However, the Titan Warrior may gain a new twin-turbocharged V6 option. It could be a modified version of the 3.5-liter engine that powers the Nissan Pathfinder and Murano. This variant would need more than 284 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque, though. It could receive a few updates to enhance its low-end torque in this full-size truck.

What will the Warrior interior be like?

The 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior will draw on the concept for inspiration. Despite being designed in 2016, it still looks fresh and modern. However, it could receive a few lavish upgrades to be more comfortable with updated tech.

It’s safe to expect tons of high-quality leather options combined with rugged materials. It should be perfect for daily driving and durable to withstand the mud and debris that comes with off-roading. Best of all, the interior should be easy to clean.

Rumors suggest that we can expect carbon-colored high tolerance fabric and natural leather options with Magma Orange accents and contrast stitching. The dashboard and door panels might be laden with carbon fiber accents with chrome and leather trimming. Also, Nissan mentioned a custom steering wheel that’s constructed from a single block of aluminum.

We haven’t heard anything about new tech features, but we hope the Titan Warrior gains a larger touchscreen, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Nissan Titan Warrior is expected to begin at about $60,000. Other Nissan models may gain Warrior badging, but we will have to wait to learn more. The Warrior may launch by the end of this fall.

The used car market is pretty competitive right now due to a lack of new cars being produced. With that said, there are still plenty of good deals to be found. Kelley Blue Book compiled a list of suitable options that have the safety features drivers want, but won’t break the bank.

Topping the used compact car list, the 2018 Toyota Corolla

Kelley Blue Book knows a thing or two about reliable cars. This list includes some of the best used compact cars under $20,000. The 2018 Toyota Corolla topped the list. KBB says the Corolla is reliable, holds its value well over the years, and has a good fuel economy. The Corolla received many safety features after the redesign in 2017, so automatic emergency braking is now standard.

One of the sportier used compact cars, the 2018 Mazda3

The 2018 Mazda3 is a pretty fun used compact car that is reasonably priced these days. The Mazda3 is available as a sedan or a hatchback and has a luxurious interior compared to Lexus and Acura. This car also came with various sporty trim levels some of the other options might not have, like the preferred package or the touring option.

A reliable used car pick, 2018 Honda Civic

The 2018 Honda Civic is probably the most popular sedan on this list. It is reliable, fun to drive, and has a nice interior. The Civic, in general, tends to hold its value. If you are looking to spend under $20,000, there should be various options to choose from.

The fuel-efficient 2018 Toyota Prius

Don’t overlook the 2018 Toyota Prius on your search for a new car. The Prius has been on sale for more than two decades now, and the 2018 variety is the fourth generation. It certainly looks different than the other compact cars on this list but in a good way. Drivers can expect more than 50 mpg from the Prius, which makes it a solid choice.

Join the Subaru club, the 2019 Subaru Impreza

The 2019 Subaru Impreza comes with all-wheel-drive standard and has a lot of safety features to keep your passengers safe. It is also offered as a sedan or a hatchback, which adds to the options on the used car market. The hatchback is similar to a compact SUV as opposed to a sedan and gives a lot of extra cargo room.

The 2020 Hyundai Elantra

The 2020 Hyundai Elantra is one of the newer cars on the list, offering added tech and safety features. Since this model is 2020, you can find a used Elantra with low miles, and even a warranty left over. The 2020 Hyundai Elantra is comfortable and a good value if you can find one.

Don’t overlook the compact 2017 Acura ILX

The 2017 Acura ILX is pretty similar to the Honda Civic since these vehicles share a platform. However, the ILX is like the fancy older cousin of the Civic. Acura has a nice interior but still fits within the compact luxury vehicle budget. Since this one is 2017, you might have to check for higher mileages, but you should be able to stay under $20,000.

A fun option, the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta

If you are looking for a compact sedan that feels more like a midsize sedan, look no further than the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. It has a large back seat, a big trunk, and handles well on the road. If you look hard enough, you might be able to find a GLI Jetta within the budget as well.

Be sure to take these vehicles for a drive to get a feel for each one before driving off the lot. Depending on the year, some of these options might have some warranty left. Getting an inspection on a used car is always a good idea, especially if it is higher mileage.

Spurred by Americans’ desire to enjoy socially distanced leisure activities, the recent RV boom has sent camper sales skyrocketing. Want a piece of the action? Check out these five RV company stocks that could see significant growth this summer.

Thor Industries

According to Investor Place, Thor Industries (THO) is not only the largest RV company, but it might also have plenty of room to grow. Thor posted a profit last year and also has a $14 billion order backlog, CNBC reports. This massive backlog indicates high demand for Thor RVs, which include popular brands Airstream and Heartland.

As of this writing, THO’s share price is at a tad over $100, and that’s an improvement over last year. However, like many stocks, THO’s price has fluctuated significantly, and it’s down from its peak of about $150 per share.

Winnebago Industries

Probably a better-known brand than Thor, Winnebago Industries (WGO) is also a good stock to keep track of, Investor Place reports. After all, not only is Winnebago one of the biggest RV companies, but like Thor, it also posted a huge recent profit.

But of course, WGO’s share price has fluctuated plenty in the last year or so. After cratering in March 2020 to about $23 a share, it has rebounded and nearly tripled in price. As of this writing, WGO is at $67, and though it can still be a volatile stock, its financials nonetheless give it a positive outlook.

Camping World Holdings

Camping World Holdings (CWH) saw one of the bigger rallies, according to Investor Place. Like many other stocks, it collapsed sharply during the pandemic — it hit about $4 per share in March 2020. Since then, however, it has rallied back to about $40 a share.

Not only that, but CWH has also made some changes that could boost profits, Investor Place reports. CWH has begun moving its focus away from non-RV-related items, and due to the RV boom, that choice couldn’t have been better.

Patrick Industries

Investor Place threw cold water on Patrick Industries (PATK), but the stock has since proven itself worthwhile. Also, PATK isn’t a purely camper-centric company, with 55 percent of its revenue coming from the RV industry.

Regardless, its stock price has only grown since March 2020. It fell to a low of about $19 a share but has surged to new highs since then. PATK is at about $81 a share as of this writing, and it has never been that valuable until 2021.

LCI Industries

Like PATK, LCI Industries (LCII) isn’t purely focused on RVs, with 54 percent of LCI’s revenue coming from camper sales, Investor Place reports. Regardless, LCI and Patrick Industries are similar in other ways because they specialize in RV components and parts, and they’ve seen much growth over the past year.

Although LCII hasn’t bloomed much as far as percentages go, the stock has grown in hard numbers. In March 2020, it fell to about $59 a share, but now it’s at $138. As such, LCII has made itself an RV stock worthy of watching.
