When shopping for full-size trucks with kids, car seat compatibility is a concern of many. Should you have children, your vehicle must be able to accommodate them as they grow. A full-size truck will do just that, with room to spare, making it a popular choice. While all vehicles produced after the year 2000 must have child seat anchors, not all are created equal. It’s time to sort out the heroes from the zeros.

The Toyota Tundra is one of the best trucks for the job

Frist up on the list of full-size trucks is the Toyota Tundra. Long a staple of the large truck scene, its stayed there for a reason. Kids across america have grown up in these, myself included. Newer Tundra models of course have child seat anchors, and can accomodate everything from a rear-facing seat to a booster without issue.

The Tundra also boasts fantastic (and durable) interior accommodations front and rear. Additionally, a slew of airbags can be found throughout many new and used Tundra models, according to U.S News. Despite the plethora of airbags, the Tundra takes a hit in the crash safety department. The truck falls somewhat flat in crash safety, so take that into consideration when comparing the Tundra to other offers.

The Ford F-150 is a strong choice too

Speaking of other offers, the Ford F-150 has been America’s most popular truck for a reason. It’s not unusual to see these vehicles in the Baby Bjorn parking lot. Once again, newer models fair better when it comes to accommodating children. Child seat anchors are plentiful, and more readily accessible than in the Tundra. Unlike the Tundra, anchors are not hidden by cheap-feeling plastic covers.

When compared again to the Tundra, the F-150 does fall flat on reliability, an important point, children or not. Thankfully, it somewhat makes up for the lower reliability scores in the features department. Newer models offer tons of standard safety tech like rear cross-traffic alert, great for busy driveways full of kids.

The Chevy Silverado is a great pick

Speaking of safety, Chevy’s full-size truck offering, the Silverado, has that in spades. Just like the F-150, it offers cross-traffic alerts and many other standard safety features. The Silverado also beats out the F-150 in reliability, though it can’t quite match the reputation Toyota has built. Fret not, as child seat compatibility is plenty strong, with excellent rear cabin room for bulkier seats.

Regardless of your pick, all three trucks are strong contenders. The real tiebreaker will come down to preference in safety features and reliability. Frankly, the Silverado seems like the Goldilocks of the bunch; offering great safety tech, seat room, and reliability without paying the premium you would for Toyota’s excellent reputation for reliability.

The pickup truck market is extremely competitive. Companies like Ford and RAM often outshine Nissan, but the Japanese automaker has staked its own place amongst the greats. Trucks like the Nissan Titan have kept the company in the race. Now Nissan is gunning for the best pickup truck with its meanest machine yet, the Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior.

When it comes to trucks, consumers usually look for two specific attributes: power and towing capability. Truck powertrains have gone from moderate to ridiculous with the advent of new technology and the progression of the automotive industry. Automakers battle for the title of best pickup truck yearly, and the competition is always stiff.

Pickup trucks are only becoming more formidable over time, and Ford has been dominating the market with trucks like the affordable Ford Ranger and the powerful Ford F-150 Raptor. With a towing capacity of 8,200 lbs and 450 hp, trucks like the Raptor are hard to beat.

The Nissan Navara is here to compete

Despite the popularity of Ford and RAM trucks, Nissan still manages to compete with these innovative American brands. The 2021 Nissan Titan makes 400 hp compared to the Ford F-150 Raptor’s 450 hp, but it has a towing capacity of over 9,200 lbs. The Titan was Nissan’s best pickup truck and best chance at staying in the race to build the greatest truck…until now.

Nissan has a new ace up its sleeve. Australia’s Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior is undergoing final testing, according to CarBuzz. The Navara PRO-4X Warrior is rumored to be the toughest Nissan truck yet, rivaling Ford models like the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ford Ranger. With the Nissan Titan’s specs already rivaling the Raptor’s, the Navara PRO-4X Warrior is expected to be insanely popular.

Nissan’s newest warrior

The Nissan Navara SL King Cab already boasts a towing capacity of over 7,700 lbs, creeping up on the Ford F-150 Raptor. Nissan Australia claims the new off-road pickup will be the world’s toughest Navara, teasing some serious towing capacity and hp. The Navara PRO-4X Warrior’s testing in Melbourne, Australia’s wilderness, proves it’s a monster.

The Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior includes an off-road around view monitor as well as blind-spot warning. It uses a multi-link coil suspension and twin-turbo engine. The exterior manages to look exclusive and fierce simultaneously. It’s aesthetically pleasing but also built to tackle off-road challenges.

Nissan’s newest pickup also includes collision warning, emergency braking, and moving object detection. The PRO-4X Warrior is quite simply one of the best Nissan pickup trucks manufactured in recent years. It offers insight into what the next Nissan Frontier could look like at the highest trim.

The warrior will not overpower the Ford F-150 Raptor, but it can be a much more affordable alternative as a high-quality pickup truck with great towing capacity. Its off-road capabilities are admirable, and it’s a great-looking truck. Nissan has been outclassed in previous years, but it appears that the Japanese automaker is ready to give Ford and RAM a run for their money.

When it comes to luxury and performance the Genesis G70 has been trying to carve out its own spot in the market. Each new model brings just enough improvements to garner more attention from consumers. Now that it has an exceptional interior as well as exterior, people think this model is pretty cool.

An editor at Car and Driver reports that the new 2022 model has even better interior features to offer. So much so, that you’ll probably have to fight off others to get into the driver’s seat.

What makes the interior of the Genesis G70 so driver-focused this year?

The first thing you’ll notice when you step into the Genesis G70 this year is the angled gauges and controls. Each one now turns toward the driver, so you can easily gather information or control what you need to without overreaching yourself to access it.

An editor at Car and Driver described it as if, “someone tipped the car on its side, and all the controls slid slightly to the left.” This even includes the 10.3-inch touchscreen as well as the instrument cluster that houses the speedometer, tachometer, and gas gauge.

In the middle, right in the driver’s line of sight, are the driving modes that you can easily switch back and forth, depending on what you need for the occasion.

Are there any improvements in performance?

The Genesis G70 didn’t make any changes with the powertrain options going into the new year. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder remains standard on the base model and the optional 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 didn’t go anywhere either.

While there aren’t any improvements with the new model, its performance is still as quick as ever producing 252 hp with the four-cylinder and 365 hp with the V6 motor. Adding the available sport exhaust, you can gain an extra 3 hp. You still get a rear-wheel-drive standard, and AWD continues to be available. The biggest drawback is losing the manual transmission.

MotorTrend’s editor remarked that the G70 continued to be engaging on the road and remained entertaining to drive, especially in their test model. The version they used was the all-wheel-drive 3.3-liter turbocharged model. Using the Sport+ driving mode, the G70 handled mountain roads with ease. Fuel economy in the publication’s test turned out to be 17-21 mpg on city roads and 25-31 mpg on the highway.

What makes the Genesis G70 a good buy?

Most of the changes that came with this redesign were in the exterior styling and the interior cabin. The Genesis G70 now offers a larger grille, which looks a lot like a shield, and different styled horizontal headlights. You also get a newer front fender design and functional vents behind the front wheels.

The 2022 model’s pricing begins with the 2.0-liter RWD, which comes in at $38,570 and $40,670 for the all-wheel drivetrain. If you upgrade to a model with the 3.3-liter V6 engine, you can expect to pay $43,145 for the RWD model, and $45,245 for the AWD version.

With these prices, you get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A wireless charger now sits horizontally, so it can accommodate more shapes and sizes of smartphones out there. While the front seats are ultra-comfortable, the rear ones remain as uncomfortable as they were in the previous model. Trunk space isn’t all that much to write home about, though, offering only 11 cubic feet of space.

The Genesis G70 redesign for the 2022 model promises to bring an interior that focuses on the driver, not so much the rear seat passengers. While no change came in the performance department, it still offers a good amount of zippiness to the motor.

If you’re a driver, you have plenty to look forward to when you get behind the wheel of the new 2022 Genesis G70.

Much like cars, RVs require regular maintenance. While much of that maintenance can be done by a professional, there are plenty of easy RV maintenance tasks that every owner should know how to do themselves. Let’s take a look at just a few of those easy RV maintenance tasks.

When was the last time you inspected your RV’s roof?

First things first, let’s start with your RV’s roof. When was the last time you climbed on top of your RV to check out its roof? If it’s been a while since you last took a gander at it, you might want to consider doing so soon. In fact, if you come across any cracks in sealant, you would be wise to reseal them before hitting the road for your next adventure, Camping World reports.

As a matter of fact, leave a cracked seal unchecked, and you could find yourself dealing with water leaks in your RV. “When leaks go unchecked, water seeps into walls, grows mold, and separates the walls–compromising the structural integrity of the RV,” Camping World added. Fortunately, checking your RV’s roof for sealant cracks and leaks is one of the easiest RV maintenance tasks.

Do you know how to check your RV’s fluid levels?

Checking your RV’s fluid levels is another easy RV maintenance task that every RV owner should know how to do, Camping World reports. In fact, checking these fluids on a regular basis will help ensure that your RV is running both adequately and efficiently. Checking them regularly can also save you money in the long run, Camping World added.

As for what RV fluids you should be checking? You should be checking your RV’s oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant levels, and windshield wiper fluid. The good news is that checking these fluids is pretty straightforward and should only take a few minutes. Chances are your RV’s manual can guide you through the process too.

Checking tire pressure is an easy RV maintenance task

Now, let’s talk tires. According to Good Sam Blog, each time that you hit the road, there’s a chance that you could experience an issue with your RV’s tires. The good news is that maintaining your RV’s tires is one of the easiest RV maintenance tasks. First, start by visually inspecting your RV’s tires. Be sure to inspect the tires’ tread condition and depth while also keeping an eye out for any cracks in the tires.

Checking tire pressure is another easy RV maintenance task that should be done on a regular basis, Good Sam Blog reports. To determine the correct tire pressure for your RV, first check your owner’s manual, which should tell you the correct tire pressure for your RV. Then, check your tire pressure using a tire pressure gauge or by checking your RV’s tire pressure monitoring system. “While a TPMS can’t prevent every blowout, it can warn you in enough time to safely pull over,” Good Sam Blog explained.

RV maintenance doesn’t have to be a chore

While maintaining your RV will require some effort on your part, RV maintenance doesn’t have to be a chore. In fact, keep up on these easy RV maintenance tasks, and keeping your RV in good condition is a breeze.
