Driving away from a wedding with your new spouse is one of the highlights of the marriage process, and a fairytale ending deserves a special car. Though there’s absolutely nothing wrong with driving off in the usual cars or riding in a limo, it would be nice to take off in something fitting for such a day.

Thankfully, Turo offers a wide selection of cars, and it even has a section of its website devoted to cars for that “just married” moment. Various models, from slick sports cars to classic roadsters, are available nationwide through Turo.

How Turo works

Turo is a revolutionary service that allows car owners to rent out their vehicles. This carsharing idea is a major shift away from traditional car rentals, which are generally done through large companies. With Turo, users have a seemingly endless selection of cars to choose from. If a user wants to rent a Tesla, one will be available.

Using Turo feels similar to other travel apps. Users pick their location and the days that they want the car. They will then see all the cars available in that area and their cost per day. When a user reserves a car, they can speak with the owner to coordinate the vehicle pick-up. Turo provides its own protection plans so that users don’t have to worry about that step of the rental process.

Rent an exotic, sporty, or luxurious car for your wedding or honeymoon

Maybe you want to surprise your new spouse with a ride in the car of their dreams, or maybe both of you have wanted to drive a luxury car to fit the importance of your wedding. Whatever your reason, Turo has plenty of exotic, sports, and luxury cars available for rent.

For example, when searching for cars in the Boston area, some results include a Jaguar F-Type, Maserati Ghibli, and Alfa Romeo 4C. Through the Turo app and website, users can select when they would like the car and for how many days. This means that if you’re looking for a car only for your wedding day or for a multi-day cross-country honeymoon, there are options with Turo.

Luxury cars are common on the carsharing service, even in smaller towns. Those interested in electric vehicles can often find Tesla models on Turo.

Or try Turo for a classic car on your big day

A classic car could be the perfect chariot for a newly married couple. In addition to offering a fun retro ride, a classic car could be a great addition to wedding photos and could help make the day that much more memorable.

Finding classic cars isn’t difficult on Turo, but they may be less accessible than modern models. Turo search results for cars in San Francisco include a fully restored 1966 Mustang.

While classic cars would be great for a wedding, there are plenty of other reasons why someone would want to rent a classic car. Turo’s intuitive app design and reasonable prices make a ride in one’s dream car much more possible.

Every detail of a wedding is planned out, from seating to decorations to food. Cars have never really been emphasized as something important for the occasion, though. But with Turo, this might begin to change. The perfect car is now only a few screen taps away from being part of the wedding experience. And outside of weddings, Turo offers a lot of potential in the car rental market. It allows users to find the rental that they need quickly and easily.

The Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX80 are being being recalled, according to Consumer Reports. There is a problem with the fuel pumps in both of these large SUVs, which could cause them to stall. Obviously this is not a desirable outcome when driving your car (they’re definitely supposed to stay on). If your Nissan Armada or Infiniti QX80 are affected, get it repaired immediately.

Nissan is the company which makes both the Armada and the QX80. They’ve recalled the 2020 and 2021 models of both SUVs. Many of those vehicles impacted were sold in the Middle East; however, some were sold in North America.

In total, there are 14,221 Nissan Armada SUVs and 9,919 Infiniti QX80s recalled.

What’s wrong with the fuel pumps?

An investigation was done to determine just what was happening with the Nissan Armada and QX80 fuel pumps. It turns out that there was a manufacturing defect. There was a buildup of melted plastic on an injection molding machine. Consumer Reports reported that this caused the “density of some impellers—a rotor that is used to improve the flow of fluids—to be out of specification.”

The impeller is a rotor that pulls fuel from the tank. It increases the flow and pressure of the fuel. This manufacturing issue causes the impeller to swell and then bind. When this happens, fuel can’t get through properly, and the SUVs can stall.

As you might imagine, when an SUV stalls while driving, there is a high risk of a crash. Luckily, as of June 3, 2021, there were no reports of any incidents related to the fuel pump problem.

There aren’t any warnings that your vehicle is about to stall, either. If you notice anything unusual in the way your vehicle is driving though, get it checked out as soon as possible.

The NHTSA has information about all open recalls. Go to the NHTSA website and enter in your VIN number. In addition to this current fuel pump recall, the NHTSA website can tell you if there are any other open recalls on your vehicle.

When you can get it fixed is another matter entirely. Right now Nissan North America is letting people know when their car is eligible for repair. They will be contacting people by mail to let them know when they can get their vehicle repaired. According to the NHTSA website, letters are expected to be mailed July 20, 2021.

Once they contact Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX80 owners, they’ll inspect and repair the fuel pumps. These repairs are free, as they should be.

You can also always contact the NHTSA, as well as the Nissan and Infiniti customer service lines to get more information and find out when your vehicle will be eligible for an inspection and repair.

If your Nissan Armada or Infiniti QX80 is part of this recall, get it serviced as soon as possible. This goes for any recall. It’s always a good idea to periodically check the NHTSA and get recalls fixed immediately. Ignoring recalls can have serious consequences.

Kia has been on the grind for a few years now. The 2021 Kia K5 is only one of many Kia models that seem to be systematically edging out the Luxury brands like Genesis, Buick, Lexus, to name a few. In this case, the 2021 Kia K5 review just dominated the 2021 Genesis G80 review on Consumer Reports.

Is the 2021 Kia K5 a good car?

Consumer Reports just completed their Kia K5 review and found it to be pretty dang good. The 2021 Kia K5 landed an overall score of 72/100. It isn’t breaking any records, but Consumer Reports was pretty into it. It scored well for its good fuel economy, intuitive controls, and spacious interior.

On the other hand, the 2021 Genesis G80 sedan scored a 67/100. This isn’t a terrible score, but it barely made it above the “recommended” threshold. Consumer Reports liked that the 2021 Genesis G80 has a comfy ride, good handling, and good fit and finish. Meanwhile, the confusing controls and poor predicted reliability really hurt the G80’s score.

The 2021 Genesis G80 is nice but Consumer Reports barely recommends it

Consumer Reports liked almost everything about it in the 2021 Genesis G80 review. However, the reliability history for this model is not great. For this reason, CR didn’t feel confident in its future reliability and thereby gave it a two out of five for reliability.

The standard power plant is a 300-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-pot. Although CR says it is a quick engine, they mention a slight hesitation from a rolling stop. There is also an optional 3.5-liter V6 that gives its power even more freely and smoothly. At 24 mpg, the Genesis G80 isn’t bad on gas but still falls behind some competitors like the Audi A6 2.0T

Even though it has a firm suspension that allows for agile and sharp handling, the 2021 Genesis G80 still has a supple ride. This is important when you get into luxury brands. So much of what defines a luxury sedan is a quiet, comfortable cabin and a smooth ride. The Genesis delivers here nicely.

What does Consumer Reports like so much about the 2021 Kia K5 review?

2021 K5 EX | Kia

For starters, the predicted reliability is better with a three out of five. This is a huge factor in CR’s grading scale. A new car having problems is one sure-fire way to make sure a customer is unhappy with their purchase. In nearly every other category, the Kia K5 review was killer.

The standard 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine punches above its weight class, and it delivers pretty decent power from such a small displacement powerplant. It also delivers a commendable 32 mpg overall.

Like the Genesis G80, the Kia K5 really excelled on the road test. CR loved the cushy ride. The Kia’s suspension was soft over road imperfections while staying firm enough in the corners to be agile.

The base version of the 2021 Kia K5 doesn’t offer much in the way of luxury appointments. However, if you step up to the higher trims, the interior can quickly progress to a near-luxury standard. Although, no matter which version you get, the steering wheel material always feels cheap.

Why pick the 2021 Kia K5 over the 2021 Genesis G80?

The Genesis is definitely a nicer car with much fancier appointments. However, the overall car isn’t better. The 2021 Kia K5 is more reliable, gets better fuel efficiency, and still is comfortable and nice to look at.

There is also the matter of money. The Kia K5 is considerably cheaper than the Genesis. The G80 has a price range of $47,700 – $62,250, while the Kia K5 has a price range of $23,590 – $30,590.

As Consumer Reports regularly proves, the nicer car isn’t always the better car.

There is no denying that the Toyota Land Cruiser is an off-roading icon. With simple-yet-robust components throughout, this Toyota SUV remains one of the toughest and most reliable models ever produced. Despite its reputation and die-hard fan base, the Japanese carmaker decided to pull the plug on this off-roader for the U.S. market starting in 2022. As a result, both sales and pricing for this model have shot up recently.

Vintage Land Cruisers have sold for large sums for quite some time now. However, with a great majority of them boasting high-mileage odometers, finding a good one can be harder than you think. However, one of these SUVs with 1,000 miles on the clock just sold for $136,000 on Bring A Trailer.

Why did this 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser sell for $136,000?

Toyota Land Cruiser | Bring A Trailer

As you might imagine, the main reason why this Toyota Land Cruiser sold for such a massive sum comes down to its odometer. This is essentially a 27-year-old SUV in brand-new condition. Given the robust nature of this SUV, most of these have led harsh lives off-roading, overlanding, and even racking up miles in the city. Additionally, since these SUVs tend to last so long, they are one of the few models buyers are likely to keep for up to 20 years and surpass 200,000 miles.

All this basically means that when a clean, low-mileage example comes up for sale, it attracts big buyers. For context, this year of the Toyota Land Cruiser carried an MSRP of $36,708, or about $66,677 in today’s money. That means that someone doubled their money by parking this SUV for 27 years.

Under its hood sits a brand-new FZJ80 4.5-liter straight-six engine, four-speed automatic transmission, and locking differentials. Despite sitting for such a long time, its current owner purchased it in 2020 and serviced it, meaning it’s ready to go.

Do off-roading SUVs make for great collector cars?

When you imagine a collector car, chances are a Toyota Land Cruiser isn’t the first thing that pops into your head. However, it seems that might be the case moving forward. This is particularly surprising considering that Toyota has built thousands of these SUVs throughout its multi-decade run. However, a report by NetCredit found that some generations of this off-roader have appreciated by as much as 748 percent in the last 15 years.

As a result, as these low-mileage examples become harder to find, the prices will continue to increase endlessly. Additionally, you won’t be able to buy a brand-new one of these in the U.S. starting next year.

Why is the Toyota Land Cruiser so valuable now?

While the current-generation Toyota Land Cruiser has nothing to do with these older models from a sales perspective, its discontinuation likely contributes to this recent price hike. In fact, sales for the outdoing model shot up by 200 percent during the first quarter of this year. Once the inventory of the new comes dries up, and speculators continue buying, we’ll likely see these values continue to rise thanks to the simple fact that finding these mint condition examples has become nearly impossible.
