The Ford Bronco Pickup Truck Is Lightyears Away

by Gabrielle DeSantis

We have some good news and some disappointing news! First of all, the Ford Bronco pickup truck looks like it’s going to happen! The Ford Maverick didn’t take it off the table. However, the Bronco Pickup truck might not come out until 2025.

The 2025 Ford Bronco pickup truck is coming

Many exciting things are on the way, including the 2022 Bronco Raptor and Ford Bronco pickup truck. However, according to MotorTrend, we have to wait. The Bronco truck isn’t expected to arrive until the middle of 2024 as a 2025 model.

The Bronco is trying to rival the Jeep. The two-door and four-door models are pretty capable matches against the Wrangler, and the Bronco Sport is a lighter version. It’s similar to the less off-roading-oriented Jeep Cherokee and Renegade.

But now the Bronco needs a truck to take on the Jeep Gladiator, and they’re already a few years behind the competition. The new Gladiator went on sale in 2019 and already has a hybrid model in the works.

What to expect for the Bronco truck

The Ford Bronco launched with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 275 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. You can also upgrade to the 2.7-liter V6 engine with 310 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. But by 2025, the new Ford Bronco pickup truck should gain something with a little more muscle.

It could get the Ford 3.0-liter EcoBoost turbo V6 that offers 355 to 647 hp and up to 630 lb-ft of torque. Rumors also suggest that it could get the 5.0-liter V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. There’s been no mention of a hybrid variant yet.

With the Jeep Gladiator, you get a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 3.0-liter V6 diesel provides 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. The Bronco can tow up to 3,500 lbs, and the Gladiator can tow up to 7,650 lbs. So, the Bronco truck will need to be beefier.

Also, rumors suggest that we could see the 2022 Jeep Gladiator 4xe debut soon. The wrangler 4xe has a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors to provide 375 hp and 770 lb-ft of torque. Rumors about the Jeep Gladiator 392 with a 6.7-liter V8 are also starting to emerge.

What will the Bronco Truck’s features be like?

The 2022 Ford Bronco pickup truck could be offered with two-door and four-door body styles. Recently spy shots revealed a single cab Ford Ranger covered in camouflage, so Ford is working on two-door trucks.

It’s safe to expect similar trim levels and equipment that the Bronco SUV already has, like the Blandlands, Big Bend, and Wildtrak models. The Bronco Sasquatch package will add extra off-roading goodies.

It could have a special First Edition package when it launches too. Pricing for this model with all the bells and whistles could start around $60,000. The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon begins at about $43,875. The base model Bronco truck could start at around $30,000, and the Gladiator begins at $34,040.

The Ford Bronco truck would serve as a more rugged and durable model compared to the Ford Ranger. It would provide a midsize truck option to compete against the off-roading Gladiator. We will keep you updated as we learn more!
