15 Years Later, Guys Are STILL Fighting Over Ford’s Famous EcoBoost Test

Ford thought it settled the debate back in 2011.
After putting a production 3.5L EcoBoost through Baja racing, heavy towing, dyno torture testing and the equivalent of roughly 165,000 miles, Ford tore the engine apart in front of a live audience at the Detroit Auto Show. The internals looked remarkably clean, wear was minimal, and engineers said the engine could likely run another 150,000 miles.
Yet 15 years later, truck owners are still arguing about the exact same issues:
