Our dream semi-retirement home in Malalcahuello, Curacautín is getting closer to reality.

Designed by Arquitecta Moira Johnson Osorio and built by Manuel Arriagada of MAAC Arquitectura y Construcción, this unique mountain home is set to break ground in the coming weeks.

The goal is to have the project completed by the next Southern Hemisphere winter ski season.

Located near the Corralco Ski Resort, this area is one of the fastest-growing adventure destinations in Chile—surrounded by native forests, volcanoes, and endless opportunities for trekking, biking, skiing, and exploring nature.

This Not So Tiny House will also serve as our base for future expeditions deep into the Patagonia region of Chile.

Trekking Extremo en Malalcahuello-Lonquimay: 12.1 millas hacia la Laguna Espejo… ¡sin llegar! ??

En esta expedición de más de seis horas y 12.1 millas de trekking en la zona de Malalcahuello–Lonquimay, nos propusimos llegar a la famosa Laguna Espejo… pero el camino (el tiempo y las rodillas) tuvo otros planes.

Aun así, cada minuto valió la pena: las vistas hacia la Cascada Salto Punta Negra son simplemente espectaculares y uno de esos paisajes que te recuerdan por qué vale la pena seguir explorando Chile.

Aunque esta vez no alcanzamos la laguna, la ruta ofrece bosques llenos de vida, tramos desafiantes y panorámicas inolvidables de la cordillera. Sin duda, volveremos para completar el camino hasta la Laguna Espejo en una próxima aventura.
