A Nissan Dealership in Springfield, Virginia, offered an interesting deal on the 2021 Nissan Titan. During one of the most difficult periods in automotive sales history, Hart Nissan launched an extreme promotion that defies pricing trends. While car prices are higher than ever, Hart offered a Nissan leaf for less than a dollar. The only catch was, you had to buy a Nissan Titan first.

The 2021 Nissan Titan pairs well with the Leaf

Multi-car households are the norm, especially when one vehicle is purpose-built. It’s not always practical to drive a full-size pickup truck. Truck buyers looking for a smaller, more practical daily driver could do worse than the Nissan Leaf. Where the Titan falls short, its electric sibling excels, making the two a logical pairing.

The Nissan Titan is not known for having a comfortable ride or smooth suspension. Nissan built this truck for work, and it shows in its straightforward, no-frills interior. The 2021 year model features more creature comforts than the previous year’s, but this is was not a truck built for a pleasure cruise. The Leaf, by comparison, offers passengers a spacious cabin and quiet ride.

Like many work vehicles, the Titan was designed to prioritize performance, not fuel economy. The 2021 Titan gets about 21 mpg highway. Drivers looking for a fuel-efficient daily driver in addition to a workhorse could do much worse than the Nissan Leaf. The all-electric car has a range of 226 miles per full charge.

How much does a 99 cent Leaf really cost?

The 2021 Nissan Titan Leads All Trucks in This Consumer Reports Ranking

On the surface, a 99 cent EV sounds like a net positive for buyers. With any advertising, the terms and conditions spell out the real costs and benefits. Hart Nissan Leaf leases pay just 99 cents for the lease, but additional taxes and fees apply. The lease agreement extends 2 years. Drivers agreed to use the EV no more than 10,000 miles per year.

To qualify for the dollar deal, buyers first purchased a 2021 Nissan Titan. With a starting MSRP of $38,345, this was no small investment. The base model S Titan is more than adequate as a work truck. Standard equipment like rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, automated emergency braking, and more make the S feel like a good deal, even without an extra EV.

Truck shoppers looking for a little extra can spring for the optional utility package, which includes practical additions such as a trailer hitch and wiring, a front overhead console, and a spray-in bed liner. These add-ons give the Titan even more functionality on the job.

The 2021 Nissan Titan Just Beat the Toyota Tundra on This Important List

The Nissan Leaf was the best-selling EV worldwide until 2020. Consumer Reports issued the 2021 its sought-after recommendation. The base S model leaf has a starting MSRP of $32,620, making it comparable in price to the Titan. The base model S Leaf is a great deal at full price. For 99 cents, it’s a steal. For less than a dollar, Hart leasees enjoy the longest range of any Leaf trim level, keyless entry and push-button start, automatic headlamps, automatic climate control, an 8-inch infotainment system, and more.

The 99 cent Leaf promotion was intended to run through the end of May, but inventory ran out much faster than expected. This promotion provided Titan buyers with incredible value and increased sales for the dealership. It’s a prime example of how a clever campaign can benefit all parties involved. Even in this market, creative marketing is still a staple of automotive sales.

We aren’t dissing the Ford Explorer. It’s an incredible SUV option. But have you seen the 2022 Ford Equator? It takes things to a luxury level that we wish we could have in the United States. Maybe the Explorer should use it for a little more luxurious inspiration.

We want the 2022 Ford Equator in the United States

2022 Ford Equator | Ford

Just look at the 2022 Ford Equator with that beautiful shade of Rose paint. According to Motor1, the Ford Equator also has matching interior accents. The Equator is a three-row SUV like the Ford Explorer. Only it’s a little smaller and a lot more luxurious.

You can fit up to seven people in the Equator. It is about 193.1 inches long, 76 inches wide, and 69.1 inches tall. The wheelbase is about 112.8 inches long. The Explorer is 199 inches long, 79 inches wide, and 70 inches tall. It has a wheelbase that’s 119.1 inches long. So, the Explorer has a slight edge over the Equator for being a little larger.

How much power does the Ford Equator have?

Unfortunately, China has steep taxes on large-displacement engines. The 2022 Ford Equator only has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 221 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 2021 Ford Explorer has three engine options:

  • The 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine pumps out 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.
  • The 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine provides 365 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. With the ST trim, twin turbos enhance its performance to 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque.
  • The 3.3-liter hybrid V6 engine generates 318 hp and 322 lb-ft of torque combined with the help of an electric motor and battery pack.

The Equator can be equipped with all-wheel drive, and the Ford Explorer is available with four-wheel drive. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 lbs. The exact figures for the Equator are currently challenging to find.

What is the 2022 Equator’s interior like?

The inside of the 2022 Ford Equator oozes with luxury. The spacious cabin provides leather and soft-touch materials everywhere you look. You’ll see that the front seats have a quilted design. You can order the Equator with six seats and there individual armrests for the second-row seats.

There is a floating front center console, dual-pane sunroof, and tons of wood trim. Plus, you’ll notice a pair of Mercedes-like screens measuring 12.3 inches. The digital cluster display looks great sitting beside the infotainment screen.

The Ford Explorer King Ranch could be the closest trim level in comparison. It provides Mesa Del Rio leather seats with hand-stitched King Ranch logos. Plus, the King Ranch is filled with rich Mahogany. Ron Burgundy can only dream about this ride.

With the Ford Premium technology package, you get the 10.1-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, massaging front seats, and Bang & Olufsen sound system. But the Texas theme might not be for everyone.

Perhaps the Equator will do well, and our Explorer will take notes on how to provide a more luxurious experience. We would like to see a blend of the two SUVs for the United States. Although, we’re pretty excited about the Ford Explorer Timberline too.

Are you shopping for a new pickup truck and hoping to hit the trails soon? Chances are, then, you’re on the hunt for the best new off-road pickup truck. The good news is that several new trucks come outfitted with all of the gear you need to take on the trails. The even better news? The following models make up some of the best new off-road pickups of 2021, Edmunds reports.

The best new midsize off-road pickups for hitting the trails

2021 Toyota Tacoma | Toyota

When it comes to midsize pickups, the 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is one of the best new off-road pickups available, Edmunds reports. In fact, according to Edmunds, the Tacoma TRD Pro is a “top contender for the title of off-road king.” Though, it’s no surprise as to why.

The 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is among the most capable pickups on the market today. It comes outfitted with a TRD-tuned off-road suspension, Fox internal bypass shocks, skid plates, and all-terrain tires. According to Edmunds, it also boasts excellent approach and departure angles and a “robust” four-wheel drive system.

And if the 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro isn’t the right off-road pickup for you? Not to fear. Edmunds presents two other options: the 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 and the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. The 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 comes equipped with Multimatic shocks and front and rear electronic locking differentials. It also boasts up to 48 mm more factory-installed lift and comes outfitted with both skid plates and rock sliders.

As for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon? It is a Jeep, after all. According to Edmunds, that’s not the only reason the Gladiator Rubicon is one of the best new off-road pickups. It has excellent approach and departure angles, along with standard four-wheel drive. This year’s model also comes outfitted with locking front and rear differentials, off-road tires, rock rails, skid plates, and an off-road-ready suspension.

These large new pickups are ready to take on the trails

Perhaps you had a larger off-road pickup in mind. If that’s the case, the good news is that you’ve got a few options worth considering. Among them are new pickups like the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, and the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss.

First, let’s talk about the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, which Edmunds highlighted as one of the best new off-road pickups. Driven by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that’s used in cars like the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Ram 1500 TRX also comes outfitted with an upgraded suspension with Bilstein shocks, 35-inch all-terrain tires, a reinforced frame, and a 2-inch chassis lift. The only downside to the Ram 1500 TRX? It’s price. Starting at $70,425, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is one of the most expensive new pickups on the market.

The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, on the other hand, comes equipped with an all-new five-link rear suspension and electronically controlled next-generation FOX shocks with Live Valve technology. It’s also available with 37-inch tires so that you can take on even the gnarliest of terrain with absolute ease.

As for the 2021 Chevy Silverado? Edmunds recommends opting for the 2021 Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss. This new off-road pickup includes features like a heavy-duty locking rear differential, an off-road suspension, skid plates, and hill descent control. It also comes standard with a 5.3-liter V8 engine under the hood.

The best new heavy-duty trucks for going off-roading

Last but certainly not least, let’s talk about the best new heavy-duty trucks for going off-roading. Among the best new off-road heavy-duty pickup trucks are models like the 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor, the 2021 Ram 1500 Power Wagon, and the 2021 Nissan Titan XD Pro-4X. The 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty Tremor is available on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trim levels and transforms the F-250 Super Duty into an off-roading beast.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Ram 1500 Power Wagon strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated styling and off-road-ready features. Standard with a 2-inch lift, locking front and rear differentials, a disconnecting sway bar, and a front winch, the Ram 1500 Power Wagon can also be had with a leather interior, a sizeable 12.3-inch center touchscreen display, and a digital rearview mirror.

The 2021 Nissan Titan XD Pro-4X found itself among the best new heavy-duty off-road pickups too. This often-overlooked pickup truck isn’t quite as competent as other off-road pickups on the list, Edmunds reports. Still, it does come standard with features like a locking rear differential, Bilstein sport shocks, hill descent control, and a radiator skid plate.

Choosing the best new pickup for your off-roading adventures

Shopping for the best off-road pickup doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, with Edmunds picks for the best new off-road pickups in hand, choosing the best new pickup for your off-roading adventures doesn’t need to be stressful at all. Try taking these models out for a test drive, and, chances are, you’ll find yourself behind the wheel of the best new off-road pickup for your off-roading needs.

Ram has a new package coming in 2022 called the G/T, and it is not a “sticker package.” It will have a decent combo of both a visual package but also some performance upgrades to spice things up. The G/T package will improve the street performance of Ram’s 1500, sort of like the sport trucks of the 1990s.

The outside will announce it is a G/T with a unique hood and graphics

On the outside, the stock hood makes way for the Sport Performance Hood. It is along the lines of the TRX hood but different. G/T package graphics to call out your special Ram according to a post on Moparinsiders.

Under the hood, the Hemi gets a Mopar Cold Air Intake. The rear axle gets the 3.92 ratio set, with a new passive cold-end exhaust system. With better breathing and a taller gear, you will feel the difference.

The Ram G/T will upgrade inside, outside, and under the hood

Inside there is a long list of upgrades starting with eight-way adjustable leather bucket seats. These also feature a four-way adjustable lumbar support. Also getting the leather treatment is the steering wheel.

Combined with the TRX-style console shifter are paddle shifters at the steering wheel. Power adjustable pedals with memory, under-seat lighting, memory settings for both the driver seat and exterior mirrors, and LED footwell lighting. Finally, door accent lighting, ventilated seats, Mopar all-weather floor mats, and a pedal kit top things off.

The G/T package can be ordered with any other trim package available

Pricing hasn’t been determined nor has delivery dates. The G/T package can be ordered with the Sport, Rebel, and Laramie trim packages. Special new 1500 features for 2022 like the optional Trailer 360-degree camera system can also be added in combination with any of these other trims including the G/T.

The G/T will tuck in between the TRX at the top, and standard Ram trucks at the bottom. It won’t hold the same panache as the TRX but will improve the street performance of the Ram 1500 over lesser siblings.
