There are so many SUVs available these days that it’s sometimes confusing to figure out which one is bigger or smaller. Hyundai alone has about six SUVs that come in a range of sizes. Looking just at the 2021 Hyundai Venue and Hyundai Tucson, which is the bigger SUV?

Is the 2021 Hyundai Venue bigger than the 2021 Hyundai Tucson?

It turns out that the Hyundai Tucson is larger than the Hyundai Venue. The Tucson has a longer wheelbase at 105.1 inches, while the wheelbase of the Venue is 99.2 inches. The Tucson is more than a foot longer too. It’s 176.4 inches long, while the Venue is 159.1 inches long.

The Tucson is 72.8 inches wide, and the Venue is 69.7 inches wide. There are a few inches difference in height as well. The Tucson is 64.8 inches tall, and the Venue 61.6 inches tall, according to U.S. News.

Both the Tucson and the Venue have seating for five people, although the three passengers in the rear would be more comfortable in the Tucson. The Tucson has more overall volume for people, with 102.2 cubic feet as compared to the Venue’s 91.9 cubic feet.

Headroom, however, is very similar between the two. The Tucson has 39.6 inches of headroom in the front seats and 39.2 inches in the rear seats. The Venue has 39.4 inches in the front seats and 38.6 inches in the rear seats. The space difference shows up more in the legroom.

While the front seats have similar amounts of space (41.5 inches for the Tucson and 41.3 inches for the Venue), the rear seats are different. The Tucson has 38.2 inches of rear-seat legroom, while the Venue has 34.3 inches.

There’s also quite a bit of difference in the amount of cargo space the two SUVs have. The Tucson has 31 cubic feet, which increases to 61.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down. The Venue has just 18.7 cubic feet, which increases to 31.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down.

U.S. News likes that the 2021 Hyundai Venue has good gas mileage and an easy-to-use infotainment system. It’s also easy to handle in small spaces. However, it did find the engine to be “lethargic” sometimes, and the cargo space is on the smaller side. The Venue has a 121-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that has excellent fuel efficiency for its class.

Also, U.S. News named the 2021 Venue as one of the finalists for the 2021 Best Subcompact SUV for the Money award. The Venue comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, and the infotainment system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2021 Hyundai Tucson

U.S. News likes that the 2021 Hyundai Tucson has a “balanced ride and handling.” It also has a long list of standard features. However, it doesn’t accelerate very quickly. The Tucson has two engine options: a 161-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder or a 181-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder.

Neither engine is very powerful or fuel-efficient. The Tucson is able to tow up to 2,000 pounds with the larger engine. It has a 7-inch touchscreen, but an 8-inch display is available. The infotainment system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Venue and the Tucson

The Hyundai Venue is classified as a subcompact SUV and the Hyundai Tucson is classified as a compact SUV. Their size difference is reflected in their starting prices. The Venue starts at $18,750, while the Tucson starts at $23,700. Otherwise, the two have a lot in common and are both good options for smaller, more affordable SUVs, even if they don’t have outstanding performance.

The Sarvo 37 is the type of craft that we only get to see on rare occasions. This electric boat is the perfect example of form and function working together in a way that works to elevate the other instead of diminishing each other. The Sarvo is not only an undeniably beautiful boat; it is also said to be faster than greased lightning going downhill.

The Sarvo 37 electric boat has come to take your breath away

As electric power continues to proliferate throughout the automotive world, don’t forget to keep an eye out for these silent beauties ripping across the drink.

The Danish company Sarvo Marine has recently released the prettiest thing ever to take to the high seas. The Sarvo 37 glides on a polished aluminum hull powered by an equally elegant all-electric power plant.

the new Sarvo 37 electric boat might be the most beautiful boat ever made. It is made of polished aluminum, wood and leather.

According to New Atlas, this unique hull is made from 60 percent recycled aluminum and is specifically designed to require low maintenance due to its corrosion-free materials. The Sarvo 37 electric boat is even more durable than traditional fiberglass vessels due to its metallic hull.

The Sarvo 37 stretches its 350 kWh battery pack with a cleverly designed three-stage hull designed to cut through the water with its razor-like bow. Although the bow looks like a katana blade to cut through rough water at slower speeds, the stern is flat to plane on top of the blue at higher speeds.

How fast can the beautiful, all-electric boat go?

Sarvo CTO Jonas Voss, former electric propulsion chief at Koenigsegg Automotive, designed the Sarvo 37 electric power plant, and it’s a doozy. According to New Atlas, Voss pairs the 350-kWh battery with a lightweight, compact electric drive powering a partially submerged propeller positioned to increase speed and acceleration.

Even more so with boats that with cars, weight placement and center of gravity really matter. By their nature, boats need to have a better weight distribution than most other crafts. Sarvo carefully spread weight throughout the electric boat for optimal stability and handling.

The Sarvo 37 is stunning. There is no further exposition needed. The “faster’n hell” part? Now, that might need some further explanation.

The Sarvo 37 is packed with 1,280 all-electric seahorse power. All that power allows this beautiful electric boat to hit a max speed of 70 knots (or 80 mph).

Obviously, at that speed, the Sarvo 37 will burn its juice up pretty quickly. However, if the captain holds the throttle to 10-20 knots, the 37 can travel up to 100 nautical miles. Unlike electric road vehicles, sea conditions can alter that distance.

What lies below?

Since the Sarvo 37 is just a day cruiser, there isn’t a massive cabin underneath, but it is luxurious still. The sleeping quarters are home to a custom twin bed with power outlets to charge your mobile device. Although it’s not big enough for a galley, there is a mini coffee station.

Pricing has yet to be released on this silver flash of excellence. As anyone who has laid eyes on it would expect, it will likely set any landlubber back a good portion of the king’s bounty. Start saving now, you sea dogs.

Tesla cars are considered groundbreaking in terms of powertrain and interior design. True, some of Elon Musk’s stances are questionable, and the Autopilot software isn’t always reliable. However, the latest data still proves that Tesla drivers are some of the happiest car owners.

Tesla Models X, S, and 3 all have high customer satisfaction ratings on Consumer Reports, with the Model 3 earning a CR Recommended label. What makes the Model 3 so irresistible to drivers? Here are some of the highlights from a list provided by CleanTechnica.

The Tesla Model 3 is fun to drive

While Tesla may not provide official horsepower estimates for most of its vehicles, its performance capabilities are hard to miss. There’s plenty of torque available from the starting line, and its sharp steering makes it a thrill to edge around corners. The drive is smooth and quiet while cruising, though even a Tesla fanatic will admit to increased noise at higher speeds.

The Standard Range Plus version can reach 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 140 mph. The Model 3 Long Range is also quick to hit 60 mph at 4.2 seconds. The Model 3 Performance can make that in 3.1 seconds and has the highest top speed of 162 mph.

Tesla owners also appreciate how simple it is to charge a Model 3. Some of Tesla’s Supercharging stations are free for owners with credits, improved for 2021 with V3 fast-charging technology. It can reportedly restore up to 175 miles in 15 minutes, making it one of the best EVs for a road trip.

Charging stations will appear on the navigation screen, and the Model 3’s battery can also be restored with solar power. Many drivers also take advantage of Tesla’s available wall connector, which can fully restore the battery with a night’s charge. The Tesla Model 3 Long Range is the most efficient, with 353 miles of range.

Fun interior quirks

While the interior looks minimalist at first, there’s an abundance of fun features inside the massive infotainment screen. You can unlock special easter eggs or play fart noises in the cabin to delight (or gross out) fellow riders. Tesla cars are apparently so smart that you can even play chess with them or with another passenger.

While Tesla doesn’t rely on conventional smartphone integration, fun apps such as Twitch and Netflix are still accessible. There’s also a drawing app and a campfire screen that plays when you just need to relax.

The interior is also reportedly one of the most comfortable in the luxury segment and made with exclusively vegan-friendly materials. The standard heated seats come with a three-level switch, so drivers can adjust the warmth to their preference. The two-toned color scheme is aesthetically pleasing, complemented by a wood dashboard and standard panoramic sunroof.

Even under heavy throttle, the Tesla Model 3 stays cool with Cabin Overheat Protection. There’s also a Dog Mode that keeps the interior from becoming too warm when the pups have to wait outside.

Are there any downsides to owning a Tesla Model 3?

Consumer Reports liked the Tesla Model 3 for the most part, but it still failed to impress testers in a few areas. The suspension is too firm to provide the most comfortable ride, especially in the cramped rear seat. Most of CR’s team also thought that the touchscreen’s controls were more distracting than practical.

Despite those disappointments, the Model 3 still stands out for its electric capabilities, plus unique and cutting-edge technology. The Standard Range Plus model also only retails for $40,190, making it a great entry-level EV.

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz just released a few weeks ago. If you check up on the smaller pickup truck segment they are called either compact or midsize pickup trucks. But the introduction of new trucks like the Santa Cruz and 2022 Ford Maverick could mean we are entering an age where we have a brand new pickup truck segment––subcompact pickup trucks. Is the ute making a comeback in North America?

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz | Hyundai

It could be. The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is a small unibody pickup truck with a short bed. It harkens back to funky truck models like the Subaru Baja. In addition, the new Ford Maverick pickup truck has been leaked. It looks bigger than expected, but it will still be in direct competition with the 2022 Santa Cruz.

How big is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

According to Hyundai USA, the all-new Santa Cruz pickup is 195.7 inches long. That’s smaller than every other option in the segment––and not just by a few inches. This truck is so small that it’s carving out a new space in today’s small pickup truck market.

In fact, Hyundai describes the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz sport adventure vehicle “segment-shattering.” It’s virtually a Hyundai Tuscon with a bed and extra adventurous appeal. It could divert sales from other new offerings like the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport, the 2022 Ford Maverick, and even upgraded midsize trucks like the refreshed Honda Ridgeline and the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier.

It’s small enough that it appeals to a wider consumer base than the average small pickup truck. This might be the ultimate adventurous compact pickup truck. A truck that’s versatile enough for full emersion into urban living as well as trekking off the beaten path for an adventurous weekend.

At 66.7 inches tall, 75 inches wide, with a 101.9-inch total footprint volume, this little truck could completely change what consumers expect and want from the compact pickup truck segment. In fact, it could call for a whole new pickup truck subspecies. Are we ready for a new pickup truck segment?

How does it compare to other trucks like the Honda Ridgeline, Chevy Colorado, and Toyota Tacoma?

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz does share one major similarity with the Honda Ridgeline. Both of these trucks are on a unibody platform. The Toyota Tacoma is built on a traditional truck frame, which is one reason why it’s so capable off-road. The Chevy Colorado is also built on a truck frame and offers a diesel option that lends it an impressive towing capacity.

The 2021 Toyota Tacoma, although roughly the same width as the Santa Cruz, is 212.2 inches in length. That’s nearly two feet longer than Hyundai’s new pickup truck. The Toyota Tacoma is roughly 5 inches taller with a wheelbase that’s about 9 inches larger than the 2022 Santa Cruz.

The Honda Ridgeline is 210 inches long, and it’s 3.6 inches taller than the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Due to its unibody construction, some might even say that the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz makes the Honda Ridgeline irrelevant in some ways. Unless you need a longer bed, the Santa Cruz seems to have an advantage over the Ridgeline.

The Chevrolet Colorado, like the Toyota Tacoma, is a different breed of compact pickup truck than that Santa Cruz or the Ridgeline. According to MotorTrend, the Colorado is 17 inches longer than the all-new Santa Cruz. It’s certainly a larger truck. And, while the Ridgeline and Santa Cruz tow the same maximum of 5,000 pounds, the Tacoma and the Chevrolet Colorado can tow between 1,800 – 2,700 pounds more when configured appropriately.

A new pickup truck segment

We expect the Hyundai Santa Cruz to fit into the existing compact or midsize pickup truck segment. However, if more automakers follow suit we could see more small trucks. In fact, the Ford Maverick is on the horizon and there have been rumors of a new Subaru pickup truck.

In time, similarly to the subcompact crossover segment, we may see the emergence of a brand new pickup truck segment. Subcompact pickups may begin carving a new space for trucks. New small trucks could mean big changes in the market.
