Daniel Craig’s James Bond has impeccable taste in classic vehicles. This incarnation of Agent 007 won a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 in a poker game, cruised around Jamaica in Land Rover Series III, and even splurged on a hand-built Spirit Yachts sailboat. James Bond demands the finer things in life. So imagine our surprise when we caught James Bond behind the wheel of a Toyota in the latest trailer for No Time To Die.

Agent 007’s Toyota Land Cruiser 90 Series

Toyota Land Cruiser | Toyota

During the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s 007 comes out of retirement. He takes a very rad 1980s Aston Martin V8 Vantage out of storage and uses it to chase the bad guys to Norway. Once in Norway, he needs to pursue them off-road, so he ditches the coupe and finds a 4×4. The SUV James Bond chooses is a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J90. This J90 is a five-door, long-wheelbase model built between 1997 and 2002. Toyota finished this example in beige paint. In some markets this SUV is simply called a Toyota Prado.

Behind the wheel of his Toyota SUV, 007 chases a convoy of new Land Rovers and Triumph Scrambler motorcycles off-road. More bad guys show up and chase James Bond. At some point, a helicopter even joins the action.

Eon Productions filmed this dramatic sequence at locations in Norway and Scotland. The action set piece demanded dramatic stunts, even flipping one Land Rover onto its roof. James Bond’s Land Cruiser proved the perfect tool to dispatch the bad guys, but it was not 007’s first Toyota.

Sean Connery’s James Bond Drove A Toyota

During 1967’s You Only Live Twice, Sean Connery’s James Bond travels to Japan. In Tokyo, he teams up with a Japanese Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) agent named Aki. She drives a 1966 Toyota 2000GT convertible that they use in some harrowing car chases.

Eon Productions wanted a Japanese sports car for the film, so they approached Toyota. Toyota was happy to provide a 2000GT coupe. There was only one problem: the 6’2″ Sean Connery could not fit in the car.

Eager to place a 2000GT in the international film, Toyota hacked the roof off of two white 1966 coupes, transforming them into unique convertibles. The team used one car in filming and kept the other as a backup.

Eon Productions took the film car to England for promotion, but the vehicle disappeared in 1967 and remains lost to this day. Toyota bought the other car from a private collection in 1977 and now proudly displays it at the Toyota Automobile Museum. Jay Leno called it the most collectible Japanese car in the world.

The ‘No Time To Die’ Toyota Land Cruiser’s Demise

Agent 007 may be renowned for his Aston Martins and Bentleys, but Bond has driven several lower-budget vehicles during Daniel Craig’s tenure. These include many Jaguars and Land Rovers as well as a Ford Edge, vintage Ford Bronco, Mercedes S400, International 4900 truck, Honda CRF 250 L motorcycle, New Holland bucket loader, and Volvo S40.

From the No Time To Die trailer, it is clear that James Bond wrecks many bad guys with his Land Cruiser Prado. But it is also clear that he ends up walking and hitches a ride with Lashana Lynch’s Agent Nomi in her Aston Martin. Considering agent 007’s track record with vehicles, it is unlikely his Toyota Land Cruiser survives No Time To Die in one piece. We will have to wait for the movie to find out.

Thanks to recent innovations in technology, EV models have become more accessible to the general population than ever before. EVs are now more affordable, charging stations are more abundant, and they are more socially acceptable than they were in the past. If you want to make the transition to an electric vehicle, but your budget has made you think they’re out of your reach, one incredible option may change your mind.

Electric vehicles have skyrocketed in popularity

EVs have long been touted as a simple way to reduce one’s carbon footprint. Many have decided that opting for an EV doesn’t feel like a sacrifice, especially considering their potential positive impact on the environment. The White House recently outlined a target to have electric vehicles make up 50% of vehicles sold by 2030, which by some estimates seems quite realistic.

Previously, high costs of EVs stood in the way for many to purchase electric, but affordable models like the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Kona have made it much easier and more affordable to join in on the eco-friendly transportation movement. Both vehicles are highly rated by everyday drivers and critics alike, and both offer a starting price of well below $50,000.

The Tesla Model 3 is a notable runner-up

When people think of electric vehicles, Tesla is usually the first company that comes to mind. The Tesla Model 3 provides one of the best values in terms of EVs, mostly thanks to its impressive driving range of 253 miles in the standard model and its stunning 150 MPGe rating in the city and 133 MPGe rating on the highway. Most other EVs can’t keep up with those numbers.

U.S. News reports that there isn’t a clear way to measure its engines with horsepower, but the reviewers remark that every Tesla engine is powerful and provides nimble acceleration. The Tesla Model 3 can charge about 3 miles per hour on a standard 120-volt outlet, but the Tesla Wall Connector boosts that to 30-44 miles per hour, so your Model 3 can charge completely overnight. You can also visit a Tesla Supercharging station, which can give your battery 175 miles of range in just 15 minutes.

The Tesla Model 3 starts at $37,990. It may not be a perfect vehicle, but it’s still an excellent option for those wanting an EV at a great price.

The 2021 Hyundai Kona is the most affordable EV

The 2021 Hyundai Kona is a fantastic vehicle, and it would make the perfect choice for many families and individuals looking to purchase an EV. The Kona offers a balanced ride, comfortable interior, and intuitive infotainment center, and the reviewers at U.S. News were pleasantly surprised with the kick its engine provides.

The 201-horsepower electric motor can also produce up to 291 lb-ft of torque, and all-electric also means instant torque and acceleration that packs a satisfying punch. The Kona gets an estimated 108 MPGe on the highway and 132-MPGe in the city, which is quite impressive for a vehicle of its size compared to its rivals. Its range sits around 285 miles, which is plenty for everyday commutes or even most day trips.

When it comes time to charge it up, the Kona Electric can fully charge in about 10 hours with a standard charger, though you can get about 80% juiced up in just over an hour with the 50-kW DC Fast Charging and just under an hour with the 100-kW charging. The 2021 Kona starts at $39,390, which is a bit higher than the Tesla Model 3. However, it also comes with Hyundai’s famous warranty of five years or 60,000 miles for basic coverage and 10 years or 100,000 miles for powertrain coverage, which makes it an overall excellent value.

The all-new Ford Ranger returned for the 2019 model year with a brand new look, hoping to compete with other trucks of similar size, like the Toyota Tacoma. The new 2023 Ranger is teased by Ford as the toughest one yet, but it hasn’t officially been revealed. Tough tends to be an adjective often used to describe trucks, but what does it mean for the Ranger? Here’s how Ford teased the all-new 2023 Ranger as the toughest yet.

A tough teaser video

The video shows a 2023 Ford Ranger, camouflaged from top-to-bottom traversing a few different extreme terrains. Most notably the desert shows off the Ranger’s ability to climb. The Ranger moves up hills through the sand, over rocks on a mountain, and more in the video. “Making sure everything works when it’s full of mud” is proudly displayed as the Ranger tears through loads of it. Aggressive drifting through the wet dirt shows off the ability of the truck to move through these types of terrain. This is how Ford displays just how tough the Ranger actually will be. Ford is working on loading up the Ranger with offroading capability, but drifting through the mud is an easier way to show it.

What we know about the 2023 Ford Ranger

2021 Ford Ranger | Ford

Though the official reveal of the Ranger won’t take place until later this year, here’s what we do know. Ford says the Ranger will have “superior off-road credentials paired with dynamic driving DNA”. From the teaser, it is very obvious that Ford is taking the offroad additions to its small pickup seriously. This statement goes hand-in-hand with the video as Ford doubles down on the claim that the off-road credentials will be improved from previous model years. Ford referenced the technology and other features being added when it said, “the toughest, most capable, most connected and most versatile Ranger yet”.

This new Ranger will also be the first to get a plug-in hybrid variant. The plug-in hybrid engine is rumored to be the 2.3 EcoBoost with an electric motor that will together produce 362-hp. Other likely engine options are the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 300-hp, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 330-hp, and the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 with 400-hp. The latter being for the Ranger Raptor, borrowed from the Bronco Warthog.

Catching the competition

2021 Toyota Tacoma | Toyota

In an attempt to climb towards competing with the Toyota Tacoma, the Ranger needed a little more offroad prowess. The Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro has Fox 2.5-inch diameter internal bypass shocks;16-wheels and tires; a TRD exhaust system; Progressive-rate leaf springs support the back and the suspension is lifted up an inch in the front. The Tacoma is an excellent selection for everyday driving, offroading, and even for hauling loads. It can even tow 6,400 lbs, which is quite a bit for a compact pickup truck. There’s a reason the Toyota Tacoma is the best-selling truck in its class, with more than 150,000 sales during 2020.

To get all the details about the new 2023 Ford Ranger, we’ll have to wait until the official premiere. It should take place closer to the end of the year. In the United States, the 2023 Ranger is likely to become available in 2022 as a 2023 model year. If you wanted a Ranger the last few years but needed more, especially offroad capability, this may be the year. That’s why the all-new 2023 Ford Ranger looks tougher than ever.

If you’re a fan of fast cars and have a healthy respect for some of the fastest, this article is for you. Some say there isn’t a more incredible supercar than one with a Bugatti badge, so it’s this family of pavement-scorching machines we’ll explore further. Bugatti is certainly an expert in designing cars that can set your hair and heart on fire.

This is the ultimate guide to all the top speeds of your favorite Bugatti models. Beefy engines, sleek designs, and some of the most extraordinary times ever recorded on the track are all on deck. See some of the stats from your favorites, including the Bugatti Chiron, the Veyron, the Bolide, the Centodieci, the Divo, and extra-special La Voiture Noire. You may want to buckle in for this read as we find out the fastest Bugatti.

What is the top speed of every Bugatti Chiron model?

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport | BUGATTI AUTOMOBILES S.A.S.

You can’t have a Bugatti top-speed conversation without saluting the Bugatti Chiron. This supercar is all-things fast and furious, with its quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine. The Bugatti Chiron price is offered at $3 million, and Bugatti says the Chiron is the “champion of performance” with its impressive capability. The Bugatti Chiron 0-60 mph time is clocked at 2.3 seconds.

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is another version of the Chiron that’s bred for speed. Its 1,577 horsepower allows this car to reach a Bugatti Chiron top speed of 273 mph. Converted to metric, the Bugatti Chiron top speed in km/h is roughly 439.35. It’s similar to the Chiron Super Sport 300 model, notorious for its world record-breaking 300 mph run.

Don’t forget about the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, either, with its top speed of 261 mph (about 420 km/h.) The Pur Sport is another thoroughbred in the Bugatti family with an impressive 0-60 mph time of 2.4 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in just 6.5 seconds.

What is the top speed of every Bugatti Veyron model?

The Bugatti Chiron isn’t the only racing stallion in the stable. The Bugatti Veyron is another faster-than-fast model commanding attention. The Veyron 16.4 launched in 2005 and continues to achieve impressive times on the track, aiming high to reach a top speed of over 400 km/h (248.5 mph) and accelerating from a quiet standstill to a soaring 100 mph in just under 3 seconds.

As Bugatti points out, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport combines the performance engineering of the Veyron coupe with the fun of a roadster. Pushing this version of the Veyron to its limits means reaching top speeds of 360 km/h (223.69 mph) with the roof down and 407 km/h (252.89 mph) with the roof intact. Who knew roadsters could be so fast?

There is also the wildly fast Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, capable of achieving a top speed of 415 km/h (257.86 mph.) According to the Guinness World Record guidelines, this car earned the title of the fastest super sports car of its time. Even for Bugatti standards, the Veyron Super Sport was a top performer.

The Grand Sport Vitesse made its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2012. A year later, the Grand Sport Vitesse made an even more incredible statement, setting another world speed record for the brand. At 408.84 km/h (about 254 mph), the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse became the fastest production roadster on the planet at the time. No one knew a top-down variation could go so fast. However, the word “Vitesse” is French for speed, indicating Bugatti designed it that way all along.

What is the top speed of the Bugatti Bolide?

Some say that after the much success of the exotic Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, the automaker went back to the drawing board with intentions of coming up with something even more exhilarating and revolutionary. The Bugatti Bolide was born and is shaping up to be one of the quickest around the track. As Bugatti claims, this beast will lap the Nurburgring run in a mere 5 minutes and 23 seconds. That’s 20 seconds faster than the existing record holder for the lap.

The Bugatti Bolide top speed is estimated to be 310 mph or 484 km/h, proving the Bolide is a supercar worthy of speed recognition. Bugatti shared some of the other times recorded for the Bugatti Bolide, including the 0-100 km/h time of 2.17 seconds and the 0-200 km/h time of only 4.36 seconds. The proof is in those time trials. The Bugatti Bolide is an absolute beast.

What is the top speed of the Bugatti Centodieci?

Another Bugatti variation that seems to be bred for speed is the iconic Bugatti Centodieci. Featuring an exceptional design, the Centodieci is what some say is a reincarnation of the legendary EB110, known to be the fastest and most impressive supercar of the early 90s.

The Bugatti Centodieci, as Bugatti shares, offers the classic wedge shape married to the W16 engine that enthusiasts know and love. Only 10 of these limited-edition cars were developed. When you’re ready to push the pedal to the floor, be prepared to reach a top speed of 236 mph or 380 km/h with that Quad-Turbo. Acceleration times are equally exciting, with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 2.4 seconds and a 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) time of a blistering 13.1 seconds.

Motor Authority described the Bugatti’s introduction in 2019 during Monterey Car Week. This $8.9 million supercar did not disappoint during its final testing at Nurburgring. The 8.0-liter engine could harness 1,577 horsepower, almost 100 more horses than the Bugatti Chiron.

What is the top speed of the Bugatti Divo?

Imagine an incredibly striking Bugatti, limited in production, with entirely new driving dynamics beyond any that Bugatti has already developed. Now imagine this new model is powered by the 8.0-liter W16 engine, capable of larger-than-life performance. You would be imagining the Bugatti Divo, and it’s no dream at all.

The Bugatti Divo looks futuristic and almost otherworldly with its distinct lines and hyper sports car capability. The Divo, according to Bugatti, is the automaker’s first coach-built hyper sports car of the 21st century. Named to honor sports car driver Albert Divo, the Bugatti Divo can whip around curves effortlessly. Bugatti-Broward says it offers 198 more pounds of downforce than the Chiron and can sweep the Nardo test track 8 seconds faster, too. It can scream from 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds, and the Bugatti Divo top speed reading is 236 mph (379.80 km/h.)

A few suspension changes for the Bugatti Divo allow for a stiffer experience, making it ideal for racing. The added downforce seems to make this car more agile, too, even if Bugatti lowered its top speed a hair from the favorite Bugatti Chiron’s 261 mph. The Divo is certainly no diva, regardless, and a noteworthy track contender among the fastest.

What is the top speed of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire?

If Bugatti were to write a manifesto capable of paying homage to its long, rich history and dedication to revolutionary supercars, it would be in the form of a vehicle worthy of such great lineage. It would bring to bear all the technology, luxury amenities, and natural speed with it. That would be the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, with its French translation meaning literally, the black car. This manifesto of a car exists, and it’s every bit the exceptional ride you’d expect it to be.

Bugatti says this car is a celebration of automotive haute couture. As Top Speed reported, it’s not a myth or urban legend. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a one-off production intended to celebrate its 110th anniversary, paying its respects to the stunning Type 57SC Atlantic of World War II times.

This hyper car’s body is made entirely of carbon fiber, and the interior is rumored to be beyond luxurious. Powering this stealth machine is a 16-cylinder, 8-liter beast of an engine, capable of 1,479 horsepower. It can scorch pavement from 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds. Additionally, the top speed for the Bugatti La Voiture Noire is estimated at 260 mph or 161.55 km/h.

Are Bugatti cars the fastest in the world?

With all of these legendary hypercars and record-setters over the years, are Bugatti models the fastest in the world overall? A few fastest car compilations document some of the fastest track times for several supercar variations. As MV Organizing points out, the Bugatti Veyron is unbeatable in the street-legal car realm with its top speed of 257 mph (413.60 km/h.) It beats out the Ferrari California’s top speed of 193 mph and the 458 Italia’s top speed of 202 mph.

While the Bugatti Chiron broke the 300-mph top speed barrier, with its speed record in 2019 of 304.77 (490.48 km/h), it wouldn’t hold the fastest car title forever. The SSC Tuatara beat out both the Bugatti Chiron and Koenigsegg Agera RS in more recent timed trials. Still, Bugatti certainly can rank with the best and occasionally take a few titles. So, what other cars are faster?

What cars have higher top speeds than Bugattis?

The Luxe Digital ranked the fastest cars on record this year. It included a couple of Bugatti models, such as the Chiron Super Sport 300+ coming in sixth place with an official top speed of 304 mph (489.241 km/h) and the Bugatti Bolide coming in fourth with its 310 mph (498.897 km/h) top speed. According to this roster, the Devel Sixteen comes in number one, with a top speed of 347 mph (558.44 km/h.)

In a separate listing of the fastest cars assembled by The Manual, there are a few other supercars on the top 10 list worth mentioning, in addition to the Bugatti models. The Hennessey Venom F5, with its 301 mph (484.41 km/h) top speed, is faster than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with its record of 268 mph (431.30 km/h.) Additionally, the SSC Tuatara smashes them all at the number one spot with 316 mph (508.55 km/h.)

When it comes to some of the fastest cars globally, Bugatti has certainly earned its place among the best, as Hindustan Times suggests. With so many top speed contenders, past and present, the automaker doesn’t appear to be giving up the chase to always be the fastest. Now that you know some of the top speeds for these Bugatti sports car and hypercar favorites, will you be inspired to invest several million to buy one for yourself? The Bugatti price tag on each model sure isn’t cheap due to all of that speed.
