How could a Ram 1500 TRX possibly get any more extreme? That’s exactly the question that the team at Apocalypse Manufacturing in Florida asked themselves before creating a custom Ram 1500 TRX 6×6. Yup, you read it right, 6×6. This team added an additional axle to take the 1500 TRX to a level we never thought possible. This pickup truck has even got the perfect name: Warlord.

What’s different about this custom Ram 1500 TRX?

2021 Ram 1500 TRX | RAM

First, let’s establish that the Ram 1500 TRX is an amazing truck without any modifications. The Apocalypse Manufacturing team took an already awesome TRX and made it the stuff of dreams…or nightmares if you stand in its way. This TRX looks like it came from Ram, but the folks at Apocalypse in Florida are 100% behind this unique mod.

This 6×6 Ram 1500 TRX affectionately dubbed the Warlord naturally has more traction than the average TRX. It also looks much more aggressive than the original. The aptly named truck is stock other than the crazy additional two wheels and axle. The TRX already includes a Hellcat engine, so there isn’t much even the most creative mechanics could do to the TRX that Apocalypse hasn’t done.

Instead of messing with what makes the TRX great, the team merely sharpened its claws by adding more wheels and gave it a killer new name. According to MotorTrend, the Warlord can be yours for $250,000. It’s hard to justify a quarter-million dollars for a TRX, but I won’t take any chances arguing with the Warlord, and neither should you.

The Ram 1500 TRX is a supertruck

Supercars may be common today, thanks to the efforts and large budgets of luxury automakers. Supertrucks, on the other hand, aren’t all that common. Trucks like the Ford F-150 are historic, but their specs don’t warrant the same excitement as supercars that reach ridiculous speeds. They may not be common, but there are supertrucks in the automotive industry when you consider some of the performance model trucks that are so drastically different from the norm.

The Shelby F-150, Ford F-150 Raptor, and the Ram 1500 TRX all should definitely qualify for supertruck status. The TRX makes 702 horsepower using its 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine. It is often compared to the Ford F-150 Raptor because of its power, but the TRX has a much stronger engine. The TRX has a towing capacity of over 8,000 pounds and is one of the most powerful trucks on the market.

The Ram 1500 TRX is already so spectacular that there are very few benefits to customizing it. What more could you possibly do to a Hellcat engine? The TRX is currently the fiercest pickup truck on the market.

Apocalypse Manufacturing builds and sells all kinds of crazy customs. The Ram 1500 TRX 6×6 Warlord proudly wears the word”war” on its trunk. This is because the extra two wheels and axle make this truck exercises complete dominance over the battle for best pickup. The Warlord may be Apocalypse’s best custom yet.

Just look at this thing. Or should we say this ProCharger Porsche 911 GT3 RS? In purple. Without the rear bumper cover. This thing looks so nasty. According to the builder, this is the first 4.0-liter Porsche GT3 RS with the ProCharger.

Many think the 911 GT3 RS is the last of the best N/A engines ever made

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Supercharged | YouTube

Many say the GT3 RS four-liter is the last of the really great naturally-aspirated engines to ever come from a factory. Adding a supercharger is just insane. But showing it off with the rear bumper cover removed looks raw and nasty. We’ve dubbed it “Hack Back” for that reason.

The folks at TKB Motorsports in Florida created the forced induction beasty. They took the 4.0-liter and added the P1X ProCharger supercharger, Fabspeed Motorsports long tube headers with an iPE titanium exhaust, Turbosmart blow-off valve, and K&N air filter. Adding all of this provides an extra 200 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque.

So, how much total horsepower is this supercharged Porsche 911 rocking?

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Supercharger

So total output is about 720 hp and 452 lb-ft of torque. And, the ability to spin this up to 9,000 RPM. In all, it’s crazy, but not crazy enough for the builder.

He says he is considering adding methanol injection. This will give him the ability to increase his boost. And he wants to change things up to allow it to run on E85 fuel for a bit of extra pop. So there are more changes in store for this Porsche.

While we normally don’t go for the Ricky Racer-look of no bumper in this case it does give the 911 a raw, all-business look. The gleaming ProCharger and titanium exhaust just add to the “Hack Back” look. We guess that if you’ve got it you should flaunt it.

In this case, flaunting the engine and exhaust drew us to the Porsche in the first place wanting to explore what this was all about. The bodywork and overall proportions of the new 911s are too bulky and fat. With the rear bumper removed it visually lightens up the rear. It removes the “baby diaper needing a change” look of the stock 911.

Are you looking for the best super-luxury car options that new cars can provide right now? Some of the options on this list from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Porche will cost you a pretty penny, but the ride alone is worth it. Not to mention the lengthy safety features luxury cars offer.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the best super-luxury car

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a super luxury car, even if it isn’t the newest model on the market. U.S. News says the 2020 S-Class “keeps a tight grip on the throne of our super-luxury car rankings thanks to its impeccable interior, lounge-like seating, and thrilling engine choices.” The interior is luxurious, posh, high-quality, and highly comfortable. The ride is also quite plush due to upgraded suspension. U.S. News ranked the 2020 S-Class 9.1 out of 10 overall, with a perfect ten score from the critics.

Average price paid: $94,250 – $235,600

So is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is undoubtedly one of the best super-luxury cars on the market this year. It offers a spacious and comfortable interior, top-of-the-line technology, and plenty of safety features. The driving dynamics and infotainment system make an already exceptional car even better. It does have quite a high starting price, but what luxury vehicle doesn’t?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class had a pretty significant redesign for 2021 and offered a Maybach model this year. U.S. News gave the S-Class a score of 8.8 out of 10, with a 9.7 from the critics.

MSRP price range: $109,800 – $185,400

The 2021 Porsche Panamera also ranks high for best super-luxury car

The 2021 Porsche Panamera has a comfortable ride and a high-end interior that one would expect from Porsche. It has a large cargo area, a powerful engine, and handles like a dream. The exterior received a light refresh for 2021, and Porsche added a new base engine to the lineup. Porsche offered two new trims, the 4S E-Hybrid and Turbo S trims. The hybrid option has an increase in battery capacity.

The 2021 Porsche Panamera only has room for four passengers, but that makes each seat quite roomy. U.S. News gave the Panamera a score of 8.8 out of 10 overall, with a 9.8 out of 10 from the critics.

MSRP price range: $87,200 – $188,100

Why not a 2021 Audi A8 luxury vehicle?

While it isn’t at the top of the list, the 2021 Audi A8 fills in the middle of the best super-luxury car pack reasonably well. It has a refined cabin with spacious seats and room for five. The engine options are robust. Audi added 22-way power-adjustable seats for 2021, and a parking camera system is standard now.

U.S. News notes that the Audi A8 isn’t as high-end as some of the other super-luxury options on the list, and it has a small trunk. Overall, the A8 received a score of 8.4, with a 9.4 from critics.

MSRP price range: $86,500 – $130,900

The 2022 BMW 7-Series is very roomy

The 2022 BMW 7-Series is relatively low on the list of the best super-luxury cars on the market. It offers powerful engine options, a roomy cabin, and a new infotainment system but lacks in the interior. U.S. News also noted that the infotainment system and voice controls are pretty picky and could use an update.

The 2022 BMW 7-Series scored 7.9 out of 10 overall, with an 8.2 out of 10 from the critics. There were no significant changes for 2022, but it appears the 7-Series might have benefitted from some.

MSRP price range: $86,800 – $157,800

A budget super-luxury car, the 2021 Lexus LS

The 2021 Lexus LS is a good option for Toyota and Lexus fans, but it lacks the refinement that some of the other vehicles offer. The interior feels high-end, and the LS comes with a long list of standard and optional equipment. It provides comfortable seating and brisk acceleration but isn’t quite as agile as other vehicles. The infotainment system is clunky as well. Android Auto is new for 2021, and both the interior and exterior received a bit of a refresh.

The 2021 Lexus LS has room for five and received an overall score of 7.9 out of 10 from U.S. News. The critics gave the LS a score of 8.3 out of 10.

MSRP price range: $76,000 – $82,850

Do any of the best super-luxury cars on the list fit the bill? Depending on your needs, these luxurious and spacious vehicles will make any road trip relaxing. If you are looking for a budget vehicle, keep driving along in your quiet cabin. These luxury cars will cost you, but the luxe interiors, upgraded safety features, and smooth ride will help you forget all about that pesky budget.

Purchasing a new or used vehicle can be a daunting task when there are so many options to choose from. A great amount of research is required to ensure that you make the correct choice for your budget and vehicle needs. The Subaru Forester provides a significant bang for your buck when looking to save on your vehicle’s budget. The Forester comes with great resale value and a smaller insurance payment than most.

Where the Subaru Forester ranks in insurance rates

2020 Subaru Forester | Subaru of America, Inc.

According to NerdWallet, the Subaru Forester ranks as one of the cheapest vehicles to insure. Among the 10 least expensive cars to insure in 2020, the Forester appears at an impressive fourth out of the top 25 selling vehicles in the United States.

When considering insurance rates, many prospective buyers assume that cheaper vehicles come with cheaper insurance rates. This is not always true. In fact, the 2020 Forester has an MSRP of $24,495 with an average annual insurance premium of $1,465, This comes to be about 5.98% of MSRP. Compare this to the cheaper Nissan Sentra, at $19,090 MSRP with an average annual premium of $1,781, we see a significantly higher 7.39% of MSRP.

As an SUV, the Forester is among the cheaper vehicles of its class regarding insurance. Sports cars, luxury vehicles, and electric vehicles typically come with a higher rate of insurance.

The sibling to the Forester, the Subaru Outback, also shows up on the list of cheapest vehicles to insure at number one.

The feature-packed Subaru Forester

Another factor a customer must consider when buying a vehicle is its features. Every driver has different needs, and some features may be more useful than others.

The 2021 Forester comes with many safety features, such as DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation which helps reduce distracted driving. It’s perfect for inexperienced and experienced drivers alike. All-Around Awareness provides blind-spot detection, a rear-vision camera, and reverse automatic braking.

In addition to the number of safety features, the Forester comes with the robust STARLINK Entertainment system, which offers passengers several entertainment options to keep busy during a long road trip.

Beyond technology, the Subaru Forester has a spacious, high-quality interior with plenty of room for storage.

Trims and pricing

The 2021 Subaru Forester comes in five trims: Standard, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring. The wide range of options allows for a significant range of pricing. At the Standard level, MSRP comes in at just $24,795 compared to the $34,895 of the Touring model, Subaru shows.

The Standard model offers many of the previously mentioned features like the STARLINK technology but is missing some other extra features.

Moving up a tier to the $27,795 Premium model, you will find 10-way power driver’s seating, a sliding panoramic moonroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, and heated front seats, among other things. This model also comes with X-MODE, which optimizes all-wheel drive and provides maximum traction on slippery surfaces.

The Sport model at $29,395 introduces Dual-Function X-MODE which brings settings for snow, dirt, and mud. Unique orange accents are found with this model, including orange stitching in the upholstery.

The Limited model comes in at $31,395 MSRP, including all of the Premium model features but adds leather-trimmed upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power rear gate.

The high-end Touring model adds the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, a satin chrome finish to the exterior mirrors, an exclusive brown leather-trimmed upholstery, and more robust power seating.

Though there is a sizeable range in pricing and features in the Forester line, you are likely to be paying less in insurance than many other drivers, no matter which option you choose to go with.
