If you want to live like it is 1974 then you have to buy this van. It’s brand new-well almost brand-new  There are only 873 miles on this 1974 Ford Econoline van. If you loved the van craze or wish you could have been part of it, this is as close as you’ll ever get.

This van craze Ford van is sitting at $30,100 right now

Listed on eBay the current price is $30,100. While that is a lot of money for an old Ford van, this is a “new” old Ford van. There can’t be another one with these low miles.

And what about the funky “van art” mural. As art, it is not great, but as a throwback to the way it was, it is classic. The same goes for the repeating flames running along the side as a graphic.

Some would say these van murals are “fine art”

Back in the day, these murals were semi-mass-produced. Stencils and templates along with simple depictions of desert or mountain scenes were all part of the van craze. Vans like this were piled on lots like cordwood with marked-up prices for the “custom paintwork.”

Shag carpeting was how most of these dealer vans were finished off inside. The contrasting black and white shag carpet as seen here will make your eyes spin if you stare at it. A refrigerator and cabinet to store your refreshments are a bonus. The red, white, and blue columns are as cheesy as the rest of the era.

Dark brown like this one, tan, and ochre, were common colors, though from our 2021 perspective are vomit-inducing. The factory orange peel finish and bubble portholes are also typical for the period. Either Cragar S/S or slotted-dish mags were as abundant as clowns in a circus.

What’s the inside of this classic Ford van like?

In the front are the typical captain’s chairs covered in black and white houndstooth material, to continue the eye-blearing theme inside. They include armrests and can swivel to chat with passengers in the back. Oh, and there is a bed platform back there too.

For a custom van, you have to have tunes, and this one is no exception. But it has to be vintage, and this is. Bonked into the dash is an AM/FM 8-track tape player. You’ll have to scrounge for 8-track tapes but the experience of songs cutting off midstream to change tracks will send you right back to the 1970s.

It’s got a V8, but don’t plan on drag racing it

Power comes from a 302 ci V8 with a single two-barrel carb. Ford must have put millions of these peppy V8s into Econoline vans forever. A three-speed C4 automatic and nine-inch rear end make for effortless shifts. There is just enough torque to make it seem like there is some power under the engine cover. Don’t plan on drag racing it, however.

If cruising Van Nuys or Whittier Boulevards is what you missed or are missing, you’ll need to step up and buy this van. Then get your buddies to bring their cool cars and trucks and hit the boulevards and city circles for some cruising action.

In the competitive class of midsize pickup trucks, the Chevy Colorado has been a staple since its debut in 2003. Many truck enthusiasts prefer the look, feel, and functionality of midsize pickups versus small or full-size models, and the Colorado has filled that role in Chevy’s lineup well. The 2022 Chevy Colorado will come with more features than ever before, including an enticing off-roading package that’s sure to thrill.

An overview of the 2022 Chevy Colorado

2022 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss | General Motors

The 2022 Chevy Colorado will remain relatively unchanged from its 2021 iteration, aside from the exciting new trim offering, which we’ll cover more in-depth below. Still, the 2022 Colorado will continue to be a great choice for those wanting a dependable midsize truck with a high towing capacity and excellent powertrain options.

Those looking to purchase a 2022 model can choose between a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a 3.6-liter V6, and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel, producing 200 hp, 308 hp, and 181 hp, respectively. U.S. News says the turbodiesel option from the 2021 version is best for towing, but the base engine should be plenty for everyday city or highway journeys.

This midsize truck will also come with straightforward infotainment features, such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth integration. A wireless device charging station, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bose audio system will likely continue to be optional upgrades. The 2021 Chevy Colorado received a reliability score from J.D. Power of 81/100, which isn’t likely to change much for the 2022 model.

The new Trail Boss package

The biggest change coming to the 2022 Chevy Colorado is the new Trail Boss package. Buyers can add it to the LT trim for $2,995 or the Z71 trim for $2,895, but only on models with four-wheel drive.

Car and Driver reports that the package will include a lifted suspension that raises the truck one inch, skid plates, enhanced wheels, and red tow hooks on the front. Beyond these more practical add-ons, the Trail Boss package will also include black tailgate lettering and Colorado emblems on the back.

This isn’t the first time Chevrolet has offered an off-roading package for the Colorado. GM Authority reports that the 2015 and 2016 Chevy Colorado models came with this option. But the previous package provided a transfer-case shield, automatic locking differential, recovery hooks, and other features.

Top competitors of the 2022 Chevy Colorado

Chevrolet’s timing of the announcement of the new Trail Boss package is no accident, as the midsize truck sector has been highly competitive for quite some time. This introduction is probably Chevy’s attempt to stay in the game by providing more unique and appealing features.

Some of its stiffest competition comes from the Honda Ridgeline, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma. The segment also includes the Jeep Gladiator and Nissan Frontier, but these trucks haven’t been as popular as other midsize pickups.

Although the Chevy Colorado remains highly ranked in this category, it doesn’t offer quite as many safety features as the Honda Ridgeline or Toyota Tacoma. It also doesn’t provide nearly as much rear seating as other trucks in the segment. If Chevrolet wants to make the Colorado the top of its class, it should start with installing more standard safety features and adding more legroom for rear passengers.

If you’ve been driving for a while, chances are you’ve encountered road rage. At other times, you could be the one guilty of the vice. It is a problem that has been a menace on our roads and seems to be worsening. It’s also a huge car safety risk that has contributed to numerous accidents and even deaths.

However, there are ways to deescalate a road rage situation before it becomes catastrophic. You can also take steps to avoid being the threat every other driver hates encountering on the road.

What is road rage?

Road rage is a habit characterized by intentional aggressive driving without caring about other road users. It manifests in numerous ways, such as rude gestures, cutting off other cars without warning or apology, braking suddenly in front of other cars, and sometimes even violence.

There are many causes for road rage. At the very root, bouts of anger, distractions, and stress cause people to cross the line and drive dangerously. They could then commit several traffic violations that gravely endanger other road users.

A recent National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report depicts the catastrophic nature of road rage. According to DriversEd.com, the NHTSA estimates that human error causes more than 94% of car crashes. Within that category is aggressive driving. In fact, it’s such a serious issue that it’s believed to cause nearly one in every three crashes.

It’s common for road rage victims to retaliate, which often causes a further escalation of an already dangerous situation. People make decisions they would not otherwise make when they feel anxious, including extending a pointless conflict. Some can try to run the aggressive driver off the road or even block their right of way. This further increases the chances of an accident

Sometimes, the road rage incident can escalate to something more than a crash. A third of the incidents involve individuals who may have firearms in their cars, as DriversEd.com reported. The site indicates that up to 30 murders every year are connected to road rage. This mostly occurs when the individuals involved use firearms to solve their traffic disputes and sometimes even follow the other motorist home in a quest for revenge.

How to prevent road rage

One of the ways you can prevent yourself from being a road rager is by leaving early for your destination. Lateness can make you anxious and likelier to take unimportant risks. Also, avoid overreacting and triggering other drivers. For instance, if someone ahead of you is driving slowly, they might be trying to figure out the road or the area. It’s better to go around them rather than tailgate or honk out of frustration.

The use of appropriate hand gestures can also help you communicate amicably with other drivers without triggering aggressive behavior. For instance, you can wave to appreciate a driver who slows down for you to overtake them. Additionally, avoid stopping to confront another driver, as such could make the situation hazardous for everyone.

How to calm the situation

Road rage situations can catch you unawares. However, this is not an excuse to retaliate and worsen the situation. Change lanes safely, reduce your speed gradually, or even exit the highway to stay away from a road rager.

You should also avoid making eye contact or showing signs of escalating the conflict. Additionally, whatever you do, don’t stop for a person-to-person confrontation with the aggressive driver. Keep driving with your doors locked. And if you’re worried about the other motorist following you, drive to the nearest police station

The Toyota Tacoma remains one of the most sought-after and beloved pickup trucks in the world. They are old, outdated, expensive, and yet, people can’t stop buying them. However, the automotive market is at a standstill as we await more semiconductors. This has driven the price of used trucks through the roof. So, while we wait for the 2021 Toyota Tacoma or overpay for an older one, check out this 2017 Toyota Tacoma overland rig.

2017 Toyota Tacoma | Alex Owner

This overland Tacoma is the coolest Toyota Tacoma ever and it’s for sale

These trucks might be all those things previously mentioned, but people love them for their rugged toughness and ability to shrug off 150,000 miles like it’s nothing. Expedition Portal highlighted this badass 2017 Toyota Tacoma on the site’s classified section.

The biggest problem for overlanders can often be all the added weight and size. The owner of this Toyota Tacoma overland rig paid special attention to make sure the added weight of the camper portion wouldn’t throw off the rest of the truck’s performance.

Expedition Portal says that adding Total Chaos long-travel suspension kit, King shocks front and rear, and custom Atlas leaf springs help manage the added weight of the AT Overland Habitat, front and rear bumpers, skid plates, and rock sliders. Larger rotors and six-piston calipers found in the StopTech big brake kit increase braking capability, while Nitro 5.29 gears help with acceleration by increasing torque to the wheels.

This Tacoma has all the overlanding bells and whistles

While not every overlanding rig is built with all the aforementioned suspension, brakes, and gearing, every self-respecting overlander has some usual suspects. In this case, it’s a Dometic fridge powered by a Goal Zero power unit and 100-watt solar panel, a Smittybilt winch, and BajaDesigns LED exterior lights.

This truck is truly the entire package. Not only has it been gone over from toe to tip, but the one thing that keeps the Tacoma a popular truck is the fact that it can collect miles like they are baseball cards. For a Toyota Tacoma, 100,000 miles is just starting to break in. Anything below that is basically a new Toyota. Well, this 2017 Toyota Tacoma overland rig might as well come with plastic on the seats because it only has 58,000 miles.

As the owner, Alex, told EP, “Not being able to do as many backpacking trips enabled me to build my perfect getaway mobile. As a kid, I always dreamed of a treehouse but never had one. I also wanted to have a capable off-road vehicle. So I thought, why not combine the two? After all, the Habitat camper feels like you’re in a treehouse, and it’s attached to a 4WD truck! It took a lot of research and time to put it all together. It wasn’t without trial and error and a lot of dialing in, but in the end, behold, here she is!”

How much does the 2017 Tacoma overlanding rig cost?

This unbelievably cool 2017 Toyota Tacoma overland rig is for sale for a meager sum of $59,900. Considering that you can easily spend $50,000 on a 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, this beautifully built overlander seems like quite the bargain considering the number of great parts and the low mileage. Maybe it’s time to buy an overlander.
