GM 6.2L V8 Recall Fix Under Federal Investigation
NHTSA has escalated its review of GM’s 6.2L L87 V8 recall remedy to an engineering analysis after hundreds of reported post-remedy engine failures. The investigation now covers an estimated one million 2021–2026 GM trucks and SUVs, including the Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban; GMC Sierra and Yukon; and Cadillac Escalade.
Tim breaks down what federal investigators are examining, why failures after the 0W-40 oil remedy and replacement engines matter, and whether this could lead to a larger recall, a different repair or no further action.
