In October 2024, I returned to Chile and traveled to Malalcahuello to visit the site of what started as a tiny house project — and evolved into what architect Moira Johnson wisely renamed the “Not So Tiny House.”

Designed specifically for us and for this extraordinary place in southern Chile, this project represents far more than architecture.

It’s a personal investment, not a financial one — and the project I’m most looking forward to in 2026.

Some will say this sounds like privilege. No kids. No debt. No illness. No financial emergencies. And they may be right.

But this video isn’t about telling anyone to follow the same path.

It’s about choosing your financial battles early, staying the course even when it’s uncomfortable, and reaching a point where you can afford to make decisions that look irrational — like building a Not So Tiny House in Malalcahuello — without fear.

True retirement isn’t about stopping work. It’s when money stops being a worry and becomes freedom.
I could stop working today.
Travel for a month in Japan.
Spend more.
Buy another red convertible.
And still sleep peacefully.
The real luxury is continuing to work by choice, not necessity.

This is a December 2025 update on the Not So Tiny House in Chile — and a reflection on architecture, financial independence, and designing a life on your own terms.
