Tesla’s Latest Move: Uniting with GM and Ford to Revolutionize EV Charging

Tesla has surrendered its key competitive advantage. Tesla has opened up its network and charging standards for other automakers to use, initially to Ford Motor Company and General Motors Company, but likely to all others in due course.
In a move that is sure to shake up the electric vehicle market, Tesla has struck a charging deal with two of its biggest rivals, GM and Ford. The agreement will allow Tesla owners to use the charging networks of both GM and Ford, making it easier for them to travel long distances without running out of power. This deal is a win-win for all parties involved, as it gives Tesla access to more charging stations while also offering GM and Ford the opportunity to expand their electric vehicle offerings.
