2027 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Cummins: First Real-World Towing Test

The 2027 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is finally available with the high-output 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel. But how well does this off-road-focused heavy-duty truck tow a real camper?
I hooked the new Cummins Power Wagon to my approximately 7,000-pound, 30-foot Coleman travel trailer and took it through the hills of western Nebraska and Wyoming. The 430-horsepower Cummins produces 1,075 pound-feet of torque and is paired with Ram’s TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission.
In this video, I show how the truck handles grades, downhill speed control and everyday highway towing. I also examine the Power Wagon’s off-road hardware, towing technology, passenger-side footwell, onboard power system, cabin technology and approximately $103,000 sticker price.
The entire 239.8-mile camping trip returned an indicated 9.9 mpg.
Is the Cummins engine the option the Ram Power Wagon has always needed, or has this heavy-duty off-roader simply become too expensive?
