Creating a special Porsche straight out of your dreams? Why not? Now you can, with the new Sonderwunsch or Special Wishes program. The program has been around since the 1970s but was not really “officially” official. If fully customized luxury cars are your thing, keep reading.

Can you create a Porsche?

Well, not everyone is entitled to whipping up a customized Porsche. The brand has offered the Sonderwunsch to its most important customers for a while now. However, Porsche is branching out, according to Road and Track. The Sonderwunsch program is a real, accessible program that drivers now utilize.

The Special Wishes program is a collaboration between Porsche Exclusiv Manufaktur and Porsche Classic. It will offer 100 cars a year with color and trim customizations, but between three and five even more exclusive cars. “These cars will have significant mechanical deviations, and they’ll be seriously expensive,” Chris Perkins noted.

Whoever decides to buy one of these cars will work with Porsche for around a year to design the car to see if the design is feasible. This will have an estimated development cost of $100,000. Porsche will determine if the car is feasible. After that, the process can move forward.

Pick a Porsche, any Porsche

The author asked if a Cayman with a 911 GT3 engine was possible. It sounds like this combination won’t work due to the size of the engine. The idea of a lifted turbo 911 capable of some light off-roading? Potentially potential.

Already created with the program is a 1983 911 Type 930/935 Turbo couple for the TAG group CEO, Mansour Ojeh. Porsche whipped up a pair of 911 Speedster 993 cars for Butzi Porsche and Jerry Seinfeld. So it is possible, but it also costs a lot.

Porsche has recently been spotted testing a lifted and flared 911 Safari edition on Nürburgring. The Safari trend has been gaining speed lately, and it seems Porsche is listening to someone.

The $100k startup fee is essentially for research and development. From there, Porsche engineers will take ideas and see what can be created.

Is this better than the Ferrari Special Projects?

The Ferrari Special Projects is a similar venture. It was created to design one-off cars for the brand’s wealthiest customers. Road and Track showed a few of these cars including a F430 SP1 aka the Sport Prototype 1/Special Project 1.

Another special creation was the P540 Superfast Aperta based on the 599 GTB. It has styling like the Pininfarina and carbon fiber for weight reduction.

Peter Kalikow, an American customer, commissioned a special open-top 599. Ferrari created the Superamerica 45 to celebrate the 45th year since he bought his first Ferrari. Whatever works, right?

A 2015 F12 TRS was inspired by the 250 Testarossa car. This one was red, much like the original red Testarossa. Both came with cylinder heads painted red that can be seen through a window on the hood.

The Hyundai Tucson is growing in popularity, and so is its sibling, the Santa Fe. These compact crossover SUVs offer plenty of room for passengers and cargo, but one is a bit bigger. Let’s compare the 2021 Hyundai Tucson’s and Sante Fe’s exterior and interior dimensions to see which SUV accommodates more people and stuff.

How big is the Hyundai Tucson?

The 2021 Hyundai Tucson’s body measures about 14.7 feet long, and its wheelbase measures 8.8 feet, Hyundai shows. All trims are just over six feet wide, not including the side mirrors.

As for height, SEL and Limited trims with roof-rack side rails included stand 5.4 feet tall, Car and Driver reports.

And the curb weight is approximately 3,591 pounds

Passenger space isn’t bad. Expect 99 cubic feet of space for head and legroom in both the front and rear seats. The Tucson’s cargo capacity is 31 cubic feet with the rear seats up. With them folded down, it offers 61.9 cubic feet. Those numbers are the same across all three trim levels.

How big is the Hyundai Santa Fe?

According to Hyundai, each of the five Santa Fe trims measures 15.7 feet long from front to rear. They’re each 6.2 feet wide, not including the side mirrors. But they vary by height.

The base trim, without a roof rack installed, measures 5.5 feet tall. SEL and Limited trims are slightly taller at 5.6 feet, but this includes the roof rack. The top-trim Calligraphy and Calligraphy 2.5T measure a smidge taller with the roof rack installed.

The curb weight for the front-wheel-drive version ranges from 3,649 to 3,907 pounds depending upon the trim. For the all-wheel-drive model, the curb weight ranges from 3,799 to 4,017 pounds.

As for passenger space, Hyundai improved this year’s Santa Fe after many critics complained. Expect 41.2 inches of headroom in the front and 39 in the back row. This goes for the SE and the SEL trims. Every tier above those offers 39.5 inches of headroom in the front and 37.8 in the rear. The legroom is the same across all trims: 44.1 inches in the front and 41.7 in the back. And cargo space in the Santa Fe measures 36.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 72.1 cubic feet with the back seats folded down.

So, which SUV is bigger?

While these two crossover SUVs are extremely close in size, the Tucson is a tad smaller than the Santa Fe. Interestingly, the Tucson offers a bit more legroom. Both Hyundai models are close in height, wheelbase, and head and legroom measurements. But the Santa Fe is longer, wider, and about 300 pounds heavier. It also provides more cargo space. In fact, many rivals, such as the Honda CR-V, offer more interior space than the Tucson.

The Santa Fe starts at $27,000 for the base model and goes up to $42,250 for the top-tier Calligraphy 2.5T. Tucson starting prices range from $24,950 for the base model to $34,700 for the Limited trim.

Overall, the 2021 Hyundai Tucson and Santa Fe are close in size, but for shoppers looking for more cargo space, the latter SUV is the way to go.

When it comes to racing, you probably wouldn’t expect an SUV to upset a supercar. However, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk blew the doors off of a Corvette ZR1. See why betting on a Jeep Trackhawk can be the key to success.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk excels in races

According to autoevolution, when the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk lined up against the Corvette ZR1, it should have been obliterated by the Corvette. This is based on the weight discrepancy.

But the Corvette was mostly likely stock, while the Trackhawk had an enhanced intake, exhaust, headers, and E85 setup. The Trackhawk managed to claim a narrow victory by reaching a quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds, while the Corvette ZR1 needed 10.6 seconds to cross the finish line.

How much power do the Trackhawk and ZR1 have?

This may be a small win, but it’s a huge victory. The Jeep Trackhawk is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 with 706 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque on demand. Power is channeled to all four wheels thanks to the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Really the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk should be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and can cover a quarter-mile in about 11.7 seconds. But it managed to shave nearly a whole second off of that time.

The Corvette ZR1 is the most intense Vette model you can buy. It has 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels with the seven-speed Tremec TR-6070 manual gearbox with rev-match tech. The ZR1 is also available with an eight-speed 8L90 automatic transmission.

How are the 2021 Jeep Trackhawk features?

The price of the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk took us by surprise. Are you ready? It costs about $88,445 to get started. This is the MSRP, so the price doesn’t include the destination fee or dealership markups.

One thing that isn’t a surprise is the fact that this Jeep is thirsty. The Trackhawk gets an EPA-estimated 11 mpg in the city and up to 17 mpg on the highway. You might have to refuel pretty often.

The Trackhawk has a responsive throttle, stable handling, and responsive electronically assisted steering along with a peppy acceleration. Car and Driver also shared that the Brembo brake calipers provide a confident performance, and the brake pedal is firm and responsive.

The interior provides an elegant feel with smooth leather on top of the dashboard and door panels. Plus, the seats provide comfort and support for racing and daily commutes with ample passenger space.

Every Hellcat Grand Cherokee comes with an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and 4G LTE mobile Wi-Fi. You can add a 19-speaker, 825-watt Harman/Kardon stereo system, and a rear-seat entertainment setup too.

Plus, the Trackhawk comes with tons of standard safety features like automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and stop-and-go technology. If you want a fast SUV, this is a great option to consider.

As life attempts to return to normal, more Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) fraud is coming to light. Luxury cars seem to be the choice of scammers, and the Lamborghini brand tops that list. What did this Florida man do with his ill-gotten gains? Diamonds and a Huracan, of course.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, David T. Hines of Miami, Florida, used the Paycheck Protection Program to gain funds fraudulently. In total, Hines managed to finagle $3.9 million in loans which he used to buy a $318,000 Lamborghini.

Hines plead guilty to one count of wire fraud back in February 2021 and was scheduled to be sentenced in April. As part of the guilty plea, he admitted to collecting millions in PPP loans through fraudulent applications. Hines used a variety of companies to collect money using misleading statements about the companies’ payroll.

Hines applied for $13.5 million in loans from approximately six companies in Miami. According to The Washington Times, he claimed to have over 70 employees and $4 million in payroll.

Following the approval of his loans, Hines did not make any payroll payments. Instead, he used the money for personal expenses and a $318,000 Lamborghini. He also spent over $4,500 at Saks Fifth Avenue, $4,000 at the Fontainebleau Hotel, and $8,530 at a jewelry store.

Hines was sentenced to six years in prison for his crimes.

As noted, Hines spent about $318,000 out of $3.9 million on a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan. While this isn’t unusual at this point, a Lamborghini is a boring choice.

According to the reports, Hines also helped others obtain fraudulent PPP loans. It isn’t clear if other Florida men were involved in the scheme or if everyone purchased a Lamborghini.

A federal grand jury says Mustafa Qadiri also used the Paycheck Protection Program to go on a luxury car shopping spree in similar news.

The New York Times says the government seized a red 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia registered to All American Capital Holdings. A black 2018 Lamborghini Aventador S, registered to the same company, was also seized.

Dupont Registry has a few 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia models listed for between $179,000 and $199,000. 2018 Lamborghini Aventador S models are for sale between $319,500 and $439,951. A black 2020 Bentley Continental GT shows a price of $250,000 to $324,000.

What happens to the seized cars?

If the government seizes an item, it might be available for sale on the U.S. Marshals Service Asset Forfeiture Program site. Currently, there are a few cars available on the site through Rudy Smith Auctions. A 2019 Audi A6 is available through May 5, 2021.

A 2013 Infini JX35 and a 2011 Porsche Panamera are also available. The Panamera has 51,700 miles and is being sold “as is.” A 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost with 38,900 is available with the rear exterior door handle missing.

Although the process is not quick, there are many luxury vehicles available for sale from this process. One man’s trash is another man’s seized treasure or something like that.
