Just look at this beast. The marvelous motorhome here is the 1974 Camelot Cruiser. This thing is so large it has a basement garage housing two snowmobiles. And this huge motorhome could be yours if you’re the highest bidder.

The Elder & Company Camelot Cruiser motorhome is one of only three built

1974 Camelot Cruiser | Worldwide

Produced by Elder & Company in Skokie, Illinois, it is one of only three to ever be built. It boasts such necessities as a gourmet kitchen with linens, dishes, and utensils to make a four-course dinner. Says Elder, “I can’t imagine something worse than selling a $150,000 RV to someone and having their first night ruined because they don’t have a can opener.” Indeed!

The living room is the size of what one would find in a house, and the same goes for the bedroom. It features a double bed. A fully appointed bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom. A private sitting room is next to the bathroom. Faux stonework is also part of this package throughout.

The Ford C-750 cab-over is the business end of this motorhome

A C-750 Ford cab-over truck does the hauling comfortably. A 5.8-liter 352 ci gas engine backed by a four-speed automatic powers the Cruiser. Though a diesel engine is more like what you would expect, the owner says this rig is very reliable.

The cab-over has “undeniable reliability and exceptionally long service life. You could hardly pick a more reliable classic midsize truck” for hauling your gigantic Camelot Cruiser. And it is so original the paint is even what came from the factory.

This is larger than any commercial motorhome of the time

Be forewarned; this is a big sucker. Dimensions are 12-feet in height, eight feet wide, and it weighs 40,000 lbs. The wheelbase comes out to 55-feet. It’s so long there is an intercom for those in the living quarters to communicate with the driver.

This example also comes with the original furnishings, which are all the size of furnishings for houses. It includes matching chairs and tables. Nothing from this period was as luxurious for the traveler as the Camelot Cruiser.

You could also order two variations of the Camelot Cruiser if the snowmobiles don’t fit your traveling needs. One could house a boat and another could haul your horses. In style. But in reality, each one built was customized for its owner.

Elder & Company even provided four porterhouse steaks for your first night on the road

To ensure a perfect first night Elder supplied four porterhouse steaks and the seasonings needed to cook up your first meal on the road. All of the funky fixtures, countertops, and details are as they left the Elder factory in 1974. Which means those icky avocado greens and Bahama yellows.

The current owner is even including a poker and gambling set to attract some of the other trailer park visitors. Sales materials and other ephemera are also included with this Worldwide Auctioneers offering. What are you waiting for?

The 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric is more affordable than ever before. The Kona has become a favorite amongst consumers despite being on the market for less than five years. The introduction of an electric Kona was a no-brainer as the automaker electrifies more of its lineup. The Kona Electric was already incredibly affordable. The 2022 model year of the popular SUV’s EV version is a steal.

The 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric’s huge price reduction

The Hyundai Kona Electric SUV | Hyundai

The Hyundai Kona is less expensive than many of its competitors. Like many other Hyundai models, it offers great value for its price. It’s no surprise that the electric version of the Korean automaker’s SUV is also affordable. Pricing the electric SUV lower than the prices of competitors was a great move for Hyundai and ultimately the environment as we strive to reduce carbon emissions as a society.

The 2021 Hyundai Kona Electric started at $37,390. The 2022 Kona Electric base model, the SEL, starts at $34,000. After federal EV tax credits, the Kona Electric can be reduced to just $26,500. According to InsideEVs, this is a price reduction of almost 10%.

The new Hyundai Kona Electric also features new improvements even though it is cheaper than the previous model year. Both the interior and exterior were refreshed for the 2022 model year. The 2022 Kona Electric is the best electric iteration of the popular SUV yet.

The federal tax credit savings added to the savings from the 2022 model year’s price reduction amounts to a whopping total of $10,890 in savings on a brand new Hyundai Kona Electric. The 2022 Kona Electric will surely be in the running for the best affordable electric SUV of the year.

Is the Hyundai Kona Electric a good SUV?

The Hyundai Kona Electric builds off of the growing popularity of the Hyundai Kona. The Kona has built a reputation as a subcompact SUV that is fun to drive and comes with plenty of great standard features. It is also incredibly affordable as well starting at $22,135. The Kona Electric delivers the same comfort, quality materials, and fun driving experience with an electric powertrain.

The 2022 Hyundai Kona electric gets 258 miles of estimated driving range on a full charge. This range is competitive for electric SUVs, especially considering the Kona Electric’s low price. The Kona Electric comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The new Hyundai Kona Electric also comes standard with the company’s Safe Exit Warning feature to keep occupants safe when exiting the vehicle. It also includes a great 8-inch infotainment system. The 2022 model solved a major irritating cabin noise problem that the 2021 model had as well.

The newest Hyundai Kona Electric is a great SUV and a great EV. The electric SUV has enough driving range for charging not to be as big a nuisance as with other EVs. Its standard features, fresh redesign, and spunky 201 horsepower powertrain make it fun to drive. The icing on the cake is that it’s one of the most affordable electric vehicles on the market after EV federal tax credits.

Is the Kona Electric worth buying?

Electric powertrains will only improve over time. That being said, the 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric’s 258 miles of driving range may not be impressive for electric SUVs five years from now. However, the electric SUV will always be affordable from every standpoint.

The 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric provides more value than most other electric vehicles on the market at its current price point. If you have a charging plan for a new electric vehicle, then the Kona Electric is definitely worth considering. The Kona may not have enough range and power for some consumers, but it is an enjoyable electric SUV to travel short distances with.

The Ford F-150 Lightning has already received over 120,000 pre-orders. And Ford is already committed to doubling the F-150 Lightning’s production goal for 2024. But this electric truck is more than just a party trick, as Ford is already hinting at a second generation for 2025.

The Ford-F150 Lightning will be redesigned for 2025

While it’s too soon for teaser images, the Ford F-150 Lightning is already being promised a redesign for the 2025 model year. Reuters mentioned this when discussing Ford’s production plans for the Lightning. And while the truck is already packed with amenities, such as a backup generator, we could imagine there will be improvements to the bare bones tailgate.

Many new trucks are coming with multi-function tailgates, such as the Chevy Silverado. And then there are electric trucks like the Canoo, which have extendable tailgates. In other words, the next big evolution for the F-150 Lightning would be a tailgate that can do more than open and close.

Though Ford already has the upper hand on the competition with its revolutionary frunk. And from front to back, there are outlets ready to power your gear. So while there’s no saying what the F-150 Lightning’s redesign will look like, there are plenty of features that make this electric truck deserving of a second generation.

One thing we do know, however, is that the F-150 Lightning will ride on a different battery pack than the one it uses now.

The second-generation Ford F-150 Lightning will ride on a dedicated Ford electric platform

GM has already developed their Ultium battery pack, and will be implementing it as well as sharing it with Honda before they release an e:Architecture of their own. And other automakers are going down a similar route, creating a battery pack that’ll fit any body style they put on it. Ford is no exception.

It’s called the TE1 truck architecture and will streamline the process of building an EV and make it cheaper. Two universal battery platforms are set to be made, one designed for light cars and another designed for trucks and SUVs. But manufacturing platforms that can be used across multiple models will make each car easier to build, and cheaper overall.

But those platforms aren’t set to release until 2025. And from there, they have bigger plans for both F-150 Lightning and the company.

Ford’s electrification goals beyond 2025

Every automaker has its own electric car timeline, and Ford’s is fairly optimistic. By 2030, Ford aims for 40% of its global sales to be all-electric. They’ve already released the F-150 Lightning and the Mach-E Mustang, but are sure to make more models. After all, they’re building two different platforms, so we’re excited to see what non-SUVs are in the works.

Reuters also mentioned that Ford’s European lineup, which includes the defunct in America Focus, will be all-electric by 2030. So there’s no denying that the company is shifting toward EVs over gas cars. Almost every automaker is. But one thing is certain: this electric truck isn’t just for show.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a midsize luxury car with opulent features along with great handling. This entry-level option from Mercedes-Benz also has excellent car safety. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class earned a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. However, that top rating only applies when available accessories are selected. Here’s a look at the Insurance Institue for Highway Safety’s ratings and which optional features are needed to own an award-winning 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The IIHS and its safety ratings

2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class | MBUSA

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reduces deaths, injuries, and damages caused by vehicle crashes. The IIHS selects its Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ award winners to recognize vehicles from a model year and size category that provide the highest levels of safety.

Vehicles that earn the Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS have Good ratings in all six crash tests, Advanced or Superior ratings for front crash prevention, and Acceptable or Good ratings for their standard headlights. Vehicles that earn the Top Safety Pick award have received nearly the same ratings, but headlights receiving an Acceptable or Good rating are available rather than standard.

The six crash tests include driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. The front crash prevention rating evaluates both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian prevention capabilities.

IIHS ratings for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class received a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS, the higher the two awards given. However, only the version with the optional front crash prevention system earned the award, says the. In addition, the award applies to C-Class vehicles built after January 2021 since that was when Mercedes-Benz made a headlight change.

C-Class vehicles that qualify have the optional Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function front crash prevention system, which is available on all trims that select the optional Driver Assistance Package (for an additional $1,700 cost). This system earned a Superior rating for vehicle-to-pedestrian test front crash prevention, but the standard system earned a Basic rating from the IIHS.

In addition to the vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention ratings, the C-Class earned a Good rating for all six crash tests; Good, Acceptable, or Marginal for headlights, depending on the trim, Superior for the vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention systems, both standard and optional, and Good for the LATCH child seat anchors ease of use.

Other 2021 Top Safety Pick+ vehicles

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class isn’t the only one that received a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS in the midsize luxury cars category. It is one of 10 vehicles that earned that distinction.

The others are the 2021 Acura TLX four-door sedan, 2021 Lexus ES 350 four-door sedan, 2021 Lexus IS four-door sedan, 2021 Tesla Model 3 four-door sedan, 2021 Volvo S60 four-door sedan, 2021 Volvo S60 Recharge four-door sedan, 2021 Volvo V60 four-door wagon, 2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country four-door wagon, and the 2021 Volvo V60 Recharge four-door wagon.

Across 11 size and body style categories, 66 vehicles earned the Top Safety Pick+ award for the model year 2021. Midsize luxury SUVs were the category with the most award winners, with a total of 13 for the model year 2021.

There are several available midsize luxury cars that earn the top safety rating of Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one of those vehicles, but buyers should be sure to select a model manufactured after January 2021 with the optional Driver Assistance Package. The C-Class from model years 2016, 2019, and 2020 were also named Top Safety Pick+ winners. The 2022 C-Class has been fully redesigned, but the IIHS hasn’t yet released its awards for the model year 2022.
