Publisher Tim Esterdahl reviews the 2027 Kia Telluride SX Prestige AWD X-Pro, including its distinctive styling, all-terrain tires, X-Pro suspension, electronic limited-slip rear differential and family-friendly three-row interior.

Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine producing 274 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Tim tests its acceleration, discusses the switch from the previous V-6 and examines its fuel economy, 5,000-pound towing capacity, technology and everyday comfort.

What is the best full-size truck you can buy for around $65,000? I configured the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500 and Toyota Tundra using each manufacturer’s online build-and-price tool. Then I scored all five trucks and selected the winner of the inaugural Pickup Truck + SUV Talk Full-Size Truck Buyer’s Choice Award.

Every truck had to meet the same basic requirements: crew cab, short bed, four-wheel drive and a price near $65,000. Each one also needed to work as a family vehicle, daily driver and tow vehicle for my camper.

The trucks were scored for powertrain, reliability confidence, capability, safety, comfort and technology, and overall value. No truck was perfect, and only six points separated first place from last place. Even I was surprised by the winner.
